To prune or not to prune?

I'm working on a tiny plant, focused more on size and grow time than yield (as a change from my too large last project).

I plan on having a short veg time, then bending w/ paper clips, to have it wrap around the pot as it flowers.

I was thinking of pruning after the first set of fan leaves appear, letting it recover, and going right in to flowering.

Would my yield be better this way? Or since I'm having it held down, I shouldn't bother and just let it grow?

I'm sorry, I just read your post like four times and I'm still confused as hell haha.

No matter what, you want to do your main trimming during the vegging cycle.

Now what exactly are you planning on doing with the bending during flowering? Sorry I don't have the clear picture

Lol, okay.

I plan on bending the plan downward slowly, then having it grow horizontally, in a circle around the pot as it flowers.

I am also having it be a short veg cycle so that the overall height at end of flowering isn't too tall.

But I was wondering if it's a good idea to prune once before jumping into the flowering. It seems like by having the plant pulled horizontal, the sides will get more light making the pruning a good idea.

But I wanted to run that plan by someone.

Does that make any sense? I want it to go up, like a spiral staircase sorta.
