What do you think contributes more to the highest yield, veg time or full flowering time? Anybody have experience with this?

I'm about to start a crop that I need finished in October. My strain takes 8.5 weeks. Looking for some advice.

If yield is of primary importance and you had to choose between vegging 2-week-old rooted clones for only one week, but taking the crop a week early OR not vegging at all, going straight to flowering, but letting the harvest run it's full length...which would you choose?

I have a hydro set-up, 1000 watt HPS, in rockwool, growing OG Kush that I always top around week 2 of flower to get several colas.

Veg time determines how much bud you will produce.

Flowering time determines how mature, and thus how potent, your buds will be.

By far, it's better to have a smaller quantity of very potent buds as opposed to a large quantity of low quality, immature buds. You always want to get a full flowering cycle, so cut back on veg time if you have to.

think about it this way. after your 2 months of growing, which is a solid amount of watching, waiting and anticipation, do you really want to smoke your harvest and have to smoke a grip of it to feel it? not to mention the dirt flavor of premature bud. nah my friend, you probably wanna get blitzed of your first puff, right? premature buds are no fun especially after investing all that time and effort. here is a guy who throws fresh rooted clones into flowering and gets some solid results, so youre probably better off doing that.
