I'm all for closing the section. Better than letting certain people (cough, cough.....name rhymes with SmackerJax) get away with constant abuse and torment of other members. You should be ashamed for running off countless members of this site with your bullying. Ashamed. Why do you feel the need to do it? Does it make you feel better? What inadequacy are you compensating for?

i'm concerned that your decision might have negative ramifications for others outside the politics forum,
simply because all of these angry anti-obama and 9/11 conspiracy theory threads will start popping up
on a much more civil areas of this forum. i mean if you're ready to put the overtime in then good luck,
but the level of mass-tantrum is probably going to be obnoxious...

what section is being closed? politics? really, closing one section wont get rid of the people who attack others, not to mention people who want to debate, it will just run them into other parts of the forum. its best if we just take action when we see these people attacking their fellow members and ban them, rather than closing useful parts of the sight

also i knoe what "elite membership" entails but special treatment and extra chances should not be one of its perks

just my little opinion, thought id put it out there, you are the boss and have the last word fdd, and i cant stop you from doing anything

I agree. I am going to send money in for elite membership now though simply because the problem must be mitigated. If I can gain elite membership and do my best to keep certain abusers at bay, then maybe it'll help...

And I will admit, like Hanimmal, that I have antagonized and lashed out at two members of this forum, but only because I could no longer take their constant abuse and bullying. Their elite status offered them a platform to get away with something that we (non-elite members) cannot get away with. Frustrated at the unfair design, I acted out in an attempt to expose the unfair design. So before you criticize my or Hanimmal's actions, try to feel what it's like to be tormented by an elite member with no recourse and no way to stop it. In short, it sucks.

I only asked questions. I seriously do want to know WHY all the name-calling is necessary. I made a list of all the names you called myself and Hanimmal. I would post them here, but it would get me in trouble. However, I have sent it along to the mods. After adding all the insults, I was amazed by just how much you get away with. Why do you do it?

Yes, unable to come up with alternative economic/political theories which makes sense (no surprise there), they resort to this. Bring it on, we've got a few hours left till it's all gone and deleted. :lol:.

It's not about economic/political theories. It's not about being 'right' (for us, at least). It's about you admitting and apologizing for unprecedented abuse towards other members.

a constant ruiner of conversation on forums is the allowance of implied insults,
coupled with those who spend their time on a forum attempting to polish their skills at it.
