I have a 4x4x6 tent...do you think that it woud be worth while trying this diy co2 method? I have a 4" inline fan/carbon filter coming out of the tent...apart from that its totally sealed.

Never thought about the small tho...hmmm

you can try this method if you want but it would be smart to scale it up a bit maybe a couple soda bottles or big tupperware

yeah, i liked the idea a few pages back...large bucket with lid.
will get it done over the weekend...still waiting on some nice member to post up pics of their setup...hint hint haha!

plus, nobody has answered my question. If the tubing comes up and over the plants (allowing the co2 to fall onto the plants)...would my 600w hps melt/warp the tubing?

You won't be making alcohol by adding O2, you'll be reproducing yeast.. Nutrition value for them is very important doing it this way.. You will however be producing 3x as much CO2 for a given mass of sugar.. If run to completion, total CO2 yield is around 1.5x initial sugar mass..

That's way better! I've been using baking sodah and vinagar. It puts off C02 and then stops quikly after I put the Vinagar. I read it in jorge cervantezes grow bible.
very usefull Tutorial, Thank you.

for that many plants it would be worth it to just buy a profesional C02
dispenser becouse you will get more times 42 :joint:

okay i got another weird idea for co2 using your method but getting two for one outta it. i like being resourceful so i was thinking fermenting yeast sugar and water makes ethonal or e85 fuel and i have a high compression honda motor i could use it on. so could i some how while making the fuel take the co2 gas into tanks or directly into the room on a regulator?

Why not just drink it?? Its not an easy task to distill it to a point where its a positive addition to an engine fuel..
I'm not on the biofuel bandwagon at all.. Its a gimmick..

if you could make it pure enough to burn. it would not be e85 your going for, it would be e100. then you would have to mix 15% gasoline withe the e100 to make e85.
and it will burn so quick whats the point?

like the post above me said e85 is a racket. less emissions, with horrible gas milage and if raises the cost of food:clap:wtf?
go e 100 if you want to go fast . go diesel if you want economy.

not really an answer just sayin.

You can not distill alcohol to 100%.. 95.58% is the azeotropic limit.. Beyond that you need to chemically dry it, or filter the water out with molecular sieves..
Water remaining will prevent the ethanol from mixing with the gas.. What you distilled will settle at the bottom of the fuel.. How quickly depends on the water content, and the gas additives..
Water in your tank may not prevent your engine from running, but its not good for it..

i saw a recipe that said to bake epsom salt and put it in alcohol to dry it out. now im curious could he do that to get e100?
I always wanted to build a twin turbo small block v8 and use e100 to turn up the boost safely

Any dessicating crystal will absorb a bit of the water I suppose.. Apparently corn meal will absorb water much more than ethanol, but when I tried that I think I just ended up with less distillate, still at pretty much the same abv.. There was definately alot of alcohol atleast adsorbed onto it.. When I dried it out it smelled like a still head broke its seal on a spirit run.. Litterally choking on it..
Zeolite performs much better.. Thats why its primarily used..

well actually my motor is just a lil honda 16 to 1 compression motor so i was talking e100 i have done it and it works great just dont know how i would get the co2 by itself. and you just need to break it down with some enzymes to get it pure ethonal.
