cutting plywood

The stores you mentioned can make straight cuts for you but nothing small under a foot. You could buy a used circular saw for 20.00 off Craigslist or less at a garage sale.If your making several cuts the hand saw will suck big time and the knife idea truly shows how broke and little you know about building he he.Good luck brother. It is a good idea to not start a grow when your broke.

oh yea thats right, Lowes and Home Depot will cut wood for you when you buy it there... Not holes or anything, just straight cuts. Thats a good money saver right there

One more thing.I have done a lot of things the unconventional way before. The thing about unconventional is if you tell or show people what your doing expect reaction.Do what you got to do.Use a key and hand saw and post the pics when done and have the last laugh.Oh just borrow a power drill and drill holes for the saw to fit.Even if you have to us a crude method for the hole the key idea is not a smart one.Think outside the box look around for anything useful and come up with a better way to make the hole.

i agree, but alot of US start because we ARE broke and cant afford to pay the sky high prices of clinic or street MJ.
Yeah Im broke all the time but Im still able to pull resource to do something the right way.Really scrapping at plywood with a key to make a hole is crazy.Unless this guy is 15 years old he has to know some one with a drill and saw.

Go to the first page oldschool, i said i was going to do that like 2 times

As for the growing on a budget thing.. im not too concerned about starting a grow with little money to spend.. because in 1 week i will have plenety of money to spend.. that doesnt mean im going to go spend it all on building this elaborate grow box, that would be stupid, the investment wouldnt be worth it for the amount of weed ill be growing. If i can find a cheap power saw i might get it, but the likelyness of me needing it again is very low, and if i went with a hand saw i wouldnt lose as much money for a 1-time use kind of thing.. and if i did need it again ide have it.. Im not searching for extra ways to save dollars at every corner of my grow, but being cheap about some things is a great way to save

the key was an example to tell you guys its possible, im definately not going to cut a hole with a key unless i got extra time to prove to you guys that its possible, by the time i have the extra wood and time for that i will have forgotten

im not 15 years old im 18, but i just moved 4 n 1/2 hours away from any1 i know except my sister (with 0 power tools) so i kinda got to do things unconventionally for now
I build my rubbermaid box with kitchen scissors, a knife, some duck tape, and a screw driver and i got a good small box for vegging for 12/12 grows (well i would like to add atleast 1 more light or 2 smaller supplimental lights, but thats easy)

if i need to make a hole to put a handsaw through.. i can always find a hammer and a nail and put it through and then push it back out also

Troglart your willing to do some hard work to get this thing done!May be working harder then I would but I applaud your enthusiasm!Don't let the hard physical work deter you and always push froward. In reality this all reminds me of myself building old motorcycles and using hacksaws to cut the frame.I don't do that any more but I have been there.

Trolgart, I agree you could make a hole in plywood with a key or cut with a knife, but it would take a ridiculous amount of time! The question is, what is your time worth? My suggestion to you is, go find a construction site or someone building a home. Politely ask a contractor there if he would mind cutting your wood or drilling you some holes. Make sure you have the locations of the cuts or holes marked out on your materials so all the contractor has to do is grab his saw or drill and make the cut or hole. I'm sure if you showed up with some coffee (beer would be better but since your only 18 that might be a problem) for him and his crew, they would take pitty on you and give you a hand...its worked for me in the past!

God damnit im not actually going to cut a hole with a key.

The construction site thing wouldnt really work in my situation because im trying to get the actual box setup first, then continue to buy things i need and set them up as i go, so i might be investing in a power saw or alot of time and carefulness with a hand saw

Beer isnt a problem though lol i live with 21 yearold sis whos an alcoholic and doesnt mind getting me beer whenever

plywood is not drywall cant cut and break
ORLY?!? {Start Sarcastic Tone} Wow, i didnt know the difference between drywall and plywood until you posted that. Thank you for showing me the error of my ways {End Sarcastic Tone}. gtfo retard
