740 watt LED grow DWC

Forgot about those,

what do you think of those units? they put out a lot of heat? hows the manufacturing? pretty, sturdy and safe? does it have any standards organization' logo on it?

waaay better than the ufos and the nova for flowering right?

the heat output is so low i had to switch back to cfl when i tried it on seedlings, it was way to cold in there. seems the sturdiest of the lights, but it has more blue than the others, pretty sure the nova will end up the best for flower its 5 band instead of two or three

hey. good post.
btw, i have question.
is supernova have 5 band include uv and/or ir?
do u think i can just use supernova only for flowering? do u think it will work?

This is the most I have ever read about LEDs. Thanks for the thread Bigkuz, I definitely will be watching from here on out!

BTW, i love the debating between the HPS, MH growers and LED growers;

personally the LED technology is way more interesting to me; but in the end the one thing that sells the most is weight, good luck bro keep up the hard work!~~~~dude

purple is 3 1/2 weeks, the others are a mix of purple clones, and from seed strawberry diesel, moby dick, power kush, brain warp, black indica

should also mention im testing a lighting cycle of 14/10 with the use of IR during the light hours but also during the first hour of darkness

good for you kuz.

you only need it for ten minutes max after lights out though,

5 minutes is even enough. - Straight from Ed Rosenthal

Don't talk like that dangledo!

hey kuz, find some Exo-terra repti-sun uvb 10 cfls / they are the shit, and they put out freaking 430 nm blue like its their job. very nice bulbs. I can't imagine not growing with them and all the frosty waxy goodness they add.

I like what i've got, all red led, ir, and the uvb, which supplements the very little blue which you actually need for flowering... I think i heard that from born2killspam or someone...

sounds good, but i dont think i want to add any more blue, im hoping those warm white crees will complete what i need, if they work well i will get another 3 15watters

what exactly are you looking for in the make up of the plant...?

bigger fan leaves>?

oh yeah and bigger colas... I think the crees will help with that... the plateau which you want and need to reach though kuz is and always has been 60 watts of light per square foot, no matter how you get it! Thats the number where the magic happens, where you get closer to a gram per watt and such.

I mean, its not all about watts per se. It's all about photometric flux, how many umols, how many particles of light are shot at the plants. Lower watts means.. lower flux. So, think 60 per foot for the flux needed for flowering.

so you're pretty much gonna need a cree bulb per plant site... jesus.

i think the best improvement im making is switching away from the 5 gallon buckets. those are great for growing monsters, but for clones and the size of plants that ive been growin i can pack a lot more into a rubbermaid, getting less wasted ligths in between buckets

im gonna have 3 stations with clones in different stages of flowering, so hopefully just one warm white per station

I missed something....what happened to the first grow?

If you are going to change consider a bubbleponic system (on rollit up). You would be able to compare LED's to CFL's.
Bubbleponic's + CFL's works very well, and it is easy.

first two plants were seeded one had pollen sacks. doin rubbermaid tubs with airstones in em, some from seed, some from rooted clone straight to flower
