How can a comment about a woman's thighs be construed as racist? I once said that Hillary Clinton has thighs that go all the way down to her ankles. Does that make me a racist too?
And why in the world should I be positive about the Obamas, both Barak and Michelle? Aren't they the ones who are trying to sovietize the United States?

To be honest, this forum is far more civilized than other popular ones. Most people here have their heads on straight, just the constant bashing gets out of hand. You guys could get a few moderators to look over the threads.and this is why we are closing this forum.

who though? everyone seems to have a "side". people would love to come in and start banning people. mods are hard to find or we'd have 20.

This is true. Mods aren't paid and always in a position to be lambasted - it's not a fun job.
But I do think finding more mods and regulating the site more would be the BEST option. Get the banhammer out more often and right away and people will listen. RIU is a HUGE site and certainly needs more moderation. I don't even see any other mod anymore - it's just you fdd. Gogrow, Chiceh, Growtech, et al are hardly around anymore. One man cannot do the job on a site this big. So I agree completely. This site needs about 20 mods.

It's a hassle to be a mod at times but I'm sure some people here would be happy to volunteer for the job. All you need is rules/guidelines for them to abide. You could do a trial run. Give contestants a few abilities (like changing topic titles if asked, or pinning topics) and if it works out well you can make them full mods.
