250w vs 400w

so i'm coming to the end of my first crop, and after making a few rookie mistakes i've come out a little disappointed with my lights. i have a 250w HPS and just a small closet set up, and i'm thinking of moving into a larger closet for the next one but i will need two lights. should i invest and buy 2 400w HPS or use a 400 and the 250 separately? and is it worth upgrading to 400 or sticking with two 250s?

yeah from what i've been reading on here i figured it would be better. how do you mean handle the heat sorry?

oh and i just noticed they have one thats made for hanging lower, heat resistant glass or something. any opinions on those globes?? they're only a few dollars extra

And get metal halide bulbs fer vegging and HPS bulbs for the flower stage.

and you would use a inline fan to flow the hot air out and away from the plants. That's what i use to have and now i have a 600watter

just that its and extra 150 watts of heat. as long as you have decent ventilation you should be fine.

the coverd lights are connected to inline fans and it pulls the exhaust air out through the enclosed bulb housing. drops the heat a decent amount. its a good thing if you have extra cash to spend on it.

Man, going from 250w to 800w is a pretty big jump. I've got a 270w grow going in a small cab and have been thinking about going up to 400w.

yeah i consider it 400 as opposed to 800 as it's a bigger area lol but together yeah it'd be 8. have you noticed yours budding and growing slower than everyone elses? i only had 6 in a small area with the 250 and it's been disappointing

Honestly the reason I haven't jumped up to a 400 is I've more than enough. I only grow for myself and when friends come over and for that the 270w works. The last time I measured I dry ~7.5oz dry from my harvest but that was over a year ago.

yeah i thought about it, i'm not growing for the masses so i might go for a half way compromise. i reckon two 250s should do it lol

These off brand ones work as good as a lumatek?
