Any advice on growing with cfl's???

dont use cfl they suck for flower but awesome for veg. mine showed hairs but wouldnt do anything after that because not enough light.

CFLs will flower just fine, given enough wattage. Either you didn't use enough, or you did something else wrong (light leaks etc).

took the words out of my mouth...........mine lookin good.
lumens...the more, the merry. my box is 20x1600 lumens = 32,000 lumens.

Im going to have to get alot more bulb's then i take it, i only got 6x20w bulb's i'll pick some up asap!!!
They seem to be growing tho just not very quickly. How many would you say i needed for a space only 18"x18" floor 3' high, i know this is small and i'v already researched topping and i think i'll be flowering at about 8" there is no need to tell me to get a bigger space, i will be doing that soon just not at the mo!!
So how many will i need??????

how many can fit without overheating...... lik i said the more the merry. the more photons falling on your plants the faster they will grow and become more dense. remember to keep those cfl's as close as possible to canopy, cfl's aren't as intense of a light source..... the amount of and quality of light diminishes drastically the further the source is. more of them help the situation though. my lights are 3 to 4 inches.

yea man thats what im talking about!! nice plants +rep, i would be a very happy boy if mine turned out anything like that!! keep up the good work Roseman, don't suppose you know anything about nitrozyme do you?? i cant find any reviews anywhere and i looked believe me!! lol

sure u can grow with CFL's and get fat colas.... but thats if u use ALOT of them .. wich one Hortilux 400 watt Bulb Pushes 95,000 Lumens u cant beat that

yea but with limited space and cash this is the way for me!! i am quite happy to carry on as i am, i plan on doing lot's of grow's so this is just one way im trying. i will no doubt try other lights and setup's in the future, just not now yea!!!!

And that entire closet is cooled with one oscilating fan, NO VENTING, NO DUCT work, NO Cool Tube,
NO HEAT to control or vent.
