any advice for secret grow?

I am looking into trying out two plants in my closet. I've been looking on the forum trying to find out ways to keep it hidden. My mom lives in the house as well and her closet is on the other side of a wall from my closet. Is that a problem? Also I cant use the big hps bulbs or anything that will raise the power bill much. Any advice on that. Anything is appreciated!

You shouldn't grow in someone else's house without their permission.

Sound advice. Don't grow in someone else's property, even if they give you permission, because if you get caught, they're given the sentence as they're the homeowner/tenant.

That means your parents would be homeless because you wanted to grow some plants. Stupid, I know, but it's the law.

The best thing you can do now is read, read, read and read some more so when you do have your own place, or a spot to grow outdoors next season, you know exactly what to do. There's a wealth of information on these forums alone.

bad idea to grow and put other at risk...agreed that there is so much to read, research and learn to keep you busy till you can grow OUTDOORS not in the closet next to dear ol mom

okay setting aside whether you should or shouldn't do it, which wasn't the question. Take into consideration, one flowering plant can stink up a 2k square foot house easily, depending on the strain. Fluros would be your best bet as far as electricity/heat reduction. :joint::peace:

Most of us seem to think what the op proposes to do is ethically wrong and we don't want to help him do it. If you want to help him go ahead, but don't chastise others for pointing out it is wrong. It is not off topic when a poster proposes doing something wrong to say it is wrong.

Wow. I had read the laws for where I live but i didnt read that the homeowner gets in trouble. I am def. not going to grow inside. Thanks for the advice. Hopefully I can grow outside when next season rolls around.

your mom can get in a lot of trouble for what you want to do, but if we arent going to stop u , use cfl's good for closet but youll need some sort of ventilation and your going to need a co2 filter to hide the smell from her. use a variety of the cfls, daylight and softlight. and layer the closet with some mylar, dont use aluminum foil make sure you get a fan or two in there as well, heat builds up in a closet
