Liberal Lies On Health Care I

And these insurance companies do everthing they can to keep from paying claims, including changing their mailing addresses on a regualr basis, without having their mail forwarded.

They are also the ones "second guessing" your Doctor, and requiring referrals to see specialist.

This is a very simplistic answer that ignores reallity.

"You want to protect consumers? Do it the same way we protect consumers of dry cleaning, hamburgers and electricians: Give them the power to tell their insurance companies, "I'm taking my business elsewhere."

Hey man I have relatives and friends in both Canada and UK and this Idea that they are rushing over here in drove for our health care is a load of crap and they love there system Before I got laid off I had insurance and my wife went in for an operation the Doctor sent her for some test she did not even need and are co-pay was $5,000 I got laid off she still sick never got the operation and turn out the doctor owned the testing place. We need to put our heath care back in people reach. And we need to legalize Medical Cannabis http://www.ministryofcannabis.com/shop.html?aff_id=50

Basically what she said was unleash the insurance companies and they would make sure everyone got cheap (Competition) (comprehensive health care). Probably that means free bandages, and a couple of aspirins. I have yet to see competition in the health care industry driving down any costs or providing comprehensive care, well unless you have large bucks that is. She again trumps herself as the idiot she really is.
What about other forms of insurance where there is massive competition?

Like car insurance? VEry low rates available. Many options...each offering great low rates, with extraordinary coverage.

We already have "massive competition", and rates haven't came down, and people still can't get coverage.

There are hundreds of health insurance companies doing business in the U.S.

And I'm not sure what your idea of "low rates" is.

No one is saying that the US health care is perfect or perfectly affordable to all. But handing it over to the Govt. is NOT, I repeat, NOT the answer.

And maintaining the "Status Quo" only benefits the insurance companies.

A public option that had competitive rates would force insurance companies to be competitive.

By the way, on average, health insurance rates go up 50% more per year than Medical cost. This was from I believe 2007 statistics.

Again, Must I repeat this a thousand times: I have both medicare and VA along with Teamster retiree insurance. Not too many insurance companies can guarantee the coverage I have for any price. The cost of healthcare (Private) is the single most atrocious ripoff going on this planet. When they finally quit dicking around and go with the only sensible medical plan, single payer, the problems will be solved overnight. Corporations will be freed of the largest cost in their business, employee health care. The citizens will be charged (Taxed) on a progressive income level, similar to the income tax we have now. The patients will have no insurance premiums, no co-pays, no out of pocket and no limits or care refusals. If someone thinks they are too good for public health care, just like all those other countries with publisc health care, they can still choose to pay an atrocious fee to belong to an insurance co, or some co-op, see their own doctors just like the patients on public health care.

We don't wish to follow the big auto industry.... thanks, but no thanks. You obviously have not calculated the actual costs of those programs...you just noticed the great care you received....exactly what Obama is counting on....someone not doing the math.

So, I take it then, that your biases against Ann Coulter blinds you to ANYTHING she says. Is that right?

Here's just one point from the article:

"(4) National health care will give Americans "basic consumer protections that will finally hold insurance companies accountable" -- as Barack Obama claimed in his op/ed in the Times.

You want to protect consumers? Do it the same way we protect consumers of dry cleaning, hamburgers and electricians: Give them the power to tell their insurance companies, "I'm taking my business elsewhere."

So, would any of you like to take issue with that, or are you all just going to keep your blinders on and continue to shoot the messenger?

Vi
If you are sick, they want you to take your business elsewhere. That is the whole point.

Sorry,

Since I didn't see a anything, but a comment about handing it over to the government being bad, my only choice was to asume you like things the way they are.

Wasn't trying to put words in your mouth.:peace:

No one is maintaining the status quo...... but you go ahead and read into it whatever you want.

No worries.... but it's done to me all the time so...

The health system is in need of repair, no doubt about it. One of the things that needs to be pulled off of it IS the govt. The very ppl who say they are going to save it! Like they saved our retirement funds with SS (Billions and Billions in the hole on a 2% rate of return....lawdy)? I sure hope not.....

The govt. is incapable of running ANY business model with efficiency. Let's go into the way back machine to "Cash for Clunkers"...way back to last week. The government said it would last till November.... it didn't. The govt. said it would be a success.... it wasn't. The dealers were going to be helped....they want to quit and never do this again.

Medicare, Medicaid, SS, Amtrak, Post Office, Cash for Clunkers......decisions over my health needs???????? I don't think so.....

Now you have to admit you completely skewed these facts! Holy shit!

It didn't last until November because it was SO successful.

It was a success. It did EVERYTHING it purported it would do.

The dealers are MORE than happy. My best friend owns four in the area and he's NEVER been busier. He's making a KILLING! He is waiting on money from the government, but his forms are faxed in and he will get his money. He will. I guarantee you. And you act like dealers were forced to participate. It was voluntary, but somehow, it's the government's fault IF they participated (even though most made a lot of money).

I am deeply saddened by the way you skewed this story, once again.....

No, the govt. couldn't even get the timeline right. this is a tiny tiny project. They thought the money would go till November. So much for their business projection skills.

I was just skimming the subject, but why not. The dealers have not been paid when the govt. said it was ON THE WAY!

Did some cars get sold? Most certainly, but that's not the whole picture. What you see is called "sales compression". The vast majority of those ppl who purchased were going to ANYWAYS. Sales are compressed but volume overall is NOT increased. This has the dealers VERY worried. Tons of paperwork....haven't been paid....deadline moved up......no increased "true" sales.

The govt. can't even GIVE money away (our money) efficiently or on schedule.

Health care? You must be joking.....Besides that was the guppy in the post. You ignored the true whales..... uh huh.

Nope. The whale is health care and I've been very clear. It's absolutely necessary. Even if the government fucks it up down the road (which is a possibility, as is success), then it's our job to solve the problem. It's our job as innovative Americans to make this work. Didn't you state that we're the most innovative nation on the planet? Well I agree. I'm not a defeatist. History does not dictate future reality. Our system is rife with inadequacy, ineptitude, and injustice - it must be remedied. I may not like any one proposal, but I want the problem addressed. We're complacent as hell and must set a world standard here - we've gotten behind. It's time to catch up by evolving and producing.

That's my position. You're entitled to yours.

If someone thinks they are too good for public healthcare maybe they should run for Congress?

The two choices of private or public healthcare are not all the choices. Where does Congress get the power to insist on mandatory healthcare?

Cash for clunkers was not voluntary. Those who underwrite the cost were not given any choice.
