Can this bulb work in a regular lamp?

wait.. your sure you can use that in a regular socket? Well, the box does say 'medium base'. But you still need a ballast though right?

For HPS i think you have to have a ballast to
fire up the bulb. It acts as the ignitor.

i learned something new today. i thought it would fit in a regular socket

it will..its a medium based bulb. would fit in your medium standard househeld socket.

But.. like I and everyone else is saying.. you
gotta have the ballast to ignite and control
the bulbs.

Check ebay. They have good prices on some
SunBeam 250HPS/MH light kit for like 150-200 bucks.

Watch your electric bill though, I stopped using mine.. and now use CFL bulbs for my grows. Dont yield as much.... but it gets the job done. ya dig?

Okay, I'm back from Wal-Mart.

I'm going from 1 x 42w(150w) CLF, Color temp: 2,700 Kelvin, Lumens: 2700

I'm now replacing that with 2 x 26w(100w) CLF, Color temp: 6,500 Kelvin, Lumens: 1600 (So I guess that brings it to 3,200 lumens)

Should make the young ones happy

Yeah I have 2 or 3 of those bubls but take yo money and goto Home Depot if you have one, they have a 68W CFL 14.xx 4200 lumens 300w replacement, i use 8 of these, theyare great, here is a pic of them

The big one shown is actually from Lowes, home depots version is $1 cheaper and has 300 more lumens than the lowes version, either way that's the way I grow.

But right now my kids are only a few days old, and I'm still managing my light bleed from the area since I'm on 24/0 lol
