Add iodine to your nutrient solution to produce a PURPLE tint in your crop?

Is there any truth in this? I was thinking about it. when iiodine meets with a potato, it turns purple. Why? because of the starches in it. Now, all plants have starches(and sugars and blah blah), but my question is, would adding iodine to a nutrient regiment react with the starches in the plant and create a purple effect on the leaves/buds? Or is this all just lack of theory without a real hypothesis?
Perhaps, there is far more starch in a potato than in a marijuana plant, and the effects would not be seen?
Anyone tried this?:weed:

To do the starch test Iodine has to be dissolved in an aqueous solution of potassium iodide, which is a salt, and im pretty sure Iodine is an anti septic so I wouldnt let your plant be exposed to it

yesterday there was a thread about dipping buds in berry juice to change the color and flavor

maybe i dont see it daily, weekly would have been better choice of words

it sees like it would work in theory, if no one has tried it, id say an experiment is in order

there we go, thanks for that bit of information. i know it was kind of a broad generalization to make about starches and iodine, but i figured someone would be here to set me straight, thanks :weed:
