Keep in mind that many Y adapters if used in a clamp reflector will be too close in to allow two 42w bulbs to clear the sides. You need an extender which is one of those things that screw into a socket and has another socket on the end but also two outlets on the sides. Of course you don't need it for the outlets, just to extend the socket into which the Y adapter goes out further.

i had a hard time finding those at walmart and hardware stores around me

They screw in like a light bulb. If you want a cord then buy a simple pan reflector take the reflector off screw the Y into the socket and you now have a corded y

that's in the same isle in home depot as the clamp lights.... and very close to that you can find the timers, i got a mechanical one for 12 bucks and it's the shit... only deviates a couple of minutes, not too bad... if you're getting a mechanical timer, dnt get the 5 dollar one, that one can deviate almost 20 mins... i had to return mine and get the bigger one, which works great...

if your in the states do home depot and lowes...they are called Y splitters in the electrical aisle..with the accessories in the little boxes...

i said that the Y sockets are in the same isle as the clamp lights, and close to the clamp lights you can find timers.... i'm just giving you some products that are nearby what you are looking for, so if you go to home depot, and find the clamp lights or timers, you are close to the Y sockets... get it? the rest of the info was just me blabbering on cuz im stoned... :P
