Well, I'll be a bit kinder on ol' Teddy in that regard. He is still culpable....er, was still culpable for driving drunk....not the big deal back then it is today sadly, but I can understand his not being able to save her in his intoxicated state. He wasn't thinking clearly perhaps......

It's when he WAS thinking clearly that upsets me. That's when the cover up began. A Kennedy pattern emerges once again.

You have to feel sorry for the drunk ya know I mean how was he to know that was going to happen. I might toke n drive but never anything else especially drink, stupid. He should have done federal time like any other normal citizen.

This thread is a shining example of why the politics section should be closed down. Quite sad. I never really admired Kennedy, but dear god, I wouldn't be so blind. Medea, medea, medea......(shakes head in shame).

The leftist media in this country has erupted in tributes to Ted Kennedy. Democrats praise him. Republicans praise him. Liberals praise him, conservatives praise him. And while we mourn when a man dies, does that mean that all criticism must stop? We cannot forget that he opened the borders as early as 1965. We cannot forget that he voted to destroy the flag and destroy traditional marriage. We cannot forget in spite of his death, that he voted for late-term abortion – i.e., infanticide. We can't forget that…
  • He voted no on a constitutional ban on flag desecration.
  • He voted no on a constitutional ban of same-sex marriage.
  • He voted yes on adding sexual orientation to the definition of hate crimes.
  • He voted no on banning affirmative action hiring with federal funds.
  • He voted yes on allowing illegals to participate in Social Security.
We cannot forget what he has done to our country.

And so now the Soros-run media sets on anyone who dares disclose the truth about Ted Kennedy. As in a Soviet show trial, persecution falls on anyone who refuses to take the party line that the great lying lion of the left must be praised. We will not be silenced. Silence is death. Speak the truth about Ted Kennedy. Americans must know his reckless record of destructive social engineering.

Thank you for adding that, LOL, people act like his death was a loss, the only loss here is obamas extra grip on gov, teddy was like his little bitch dog, no without him we might get more good done.

It's a real shame that no autopsy was performed to substantiate the rumors of her pregnancy... would be neato to know the cause of death too.

Green Cross, a more appropriate criticism would be about him being negligent in causing Mary Jo's death. All the stuff you pointed is NOT wrong. You call yourself a constitutionalist, most of things he voted on would be in the priorities of a constitutionalist. By those morality standards you have, wouldn't smoking pot be another terrible crime that us socialist liberals have done to society? As far as your media comment, reality has a heavy liberal bias, and try not to be so hypocritical.

I have no problem whatsoever reminding people what a monster he was. This killer. He felt no remorse either. He even thought it was funny.

This is from an interview with Ed Klein, former editor at The New York Times and Newsweek, from an interview on "The Diane Rehm Show" heard on a Washington D.C. NPR affiliate. They have removed it from their website, but here is a direct quote from the interview:

I don't know if you know this or not, but one of his favorite topics of humor was indeed Chappaquiddick itself. And he would ask people, "have you heard any new jokes about Chappaquiddick?" That is just the most amazing thing. It's not that he didn't feel remorse about the death of Mary Jo Kopechne, but that he still always saw the other side of everything and the ridiculous side of things, too.
