Plants too big!!

I have a small problem and am unsure of the best course of action. Well actually its a big problem as the 10 plants I am currently vegging are going to be too big to flower in my indoor setup at the rate they are going and I have at least a month left before my current flowering batch are harvested and the flower room is free!!
I have 8 Critical 47's(Critical Mass x AK47) and 2 Blue Rhino's(Blueberry x White Rhino) in their 3rd week of veg under a 600w MH after being repotted from under a 200W Envirolite at 6 inches grown from seed. They are currently around 2.5ft on average and growing quick in my organic Batmix, the larger plants were topped, the smaller fimmed and they are now all create a relatively even canopy.
The problem is that I have 10 Maple Leaf Indica's in my 2mx2m floweing room under 2 600W HPS which are just touching on week 3, hence 4 weeks at least left before a viable harvest, meaning the C47's and BR's COULD outgrow the tent by the time it comes to flower them as I am anticipating stretch from both strains due to sativa'ish tendencies from both.
I could flower in the Veg room if I did it now I suppose as it is smaller, but with 10 plants under 1 600 it will be nowhere near as productive as under 2 600 and more space.
Pics would help you help me I know but I have no acces to a digital camera presently, so to summarise:

1) What would you do?
2) Do you think I could let these plants, given their genetics, veg for another month then viably flower given my 2m height restriction?(this would be my ideal option as if doable I would probably see my best yields ever off these plants)
3) Are there any other techniques, such as re-topping/re-fimming, supercropping, Bushmaster type applications or pruning that could keep these baby's in check and reduce overall height if they were to get too big?

Thanks in advance fellow growers:weed:

LST - Gently tie the top down and start growing horizontal. I start by gently bending the top and tie it down either to itself or to the container. Every couple days I bend it a little more until it is bent the way I want it to grow. This is especially helpful when growing different strains and trying to keep the canopy even but even more so when you are out growing height restrictions. Bend them and let them boogie-woogie!

Thanks for the speedy reply Tommy and good comment but unfortunatley I don't have the space to have wider plants, with 10 in the grow and flower room its pretty much maxed already, its a bit ov a tough one this!!

do what I do .....I will grow 16 plants in my area until the area is full...... then I split the crop into 2 different groups of 8.....I use a spare bathroom for a 24 hour dark area and every 12 hours I will rotate 8 in and 8 out.....I have plenty of room..... your lights stay on 24/7 so no power spikes

If you have a area you can use as a 24 hour dark room..... problem solved.....take 1/2 of your flowering crop and stick it in there...... switch it out every 12 hours

Ah, I didn't even think about that. I'll be moving to a pretty drug infested area in a few months when I transfer colleges and was thinking about just having 2 grow rooms, that way I could have one on at one time, and the other on when the first is off...that way I don't have a power spike and allow that to alert the cops.

I say you do this man, it will allow you to grow your plants AND help prevent from being busted.

I try to do nothing but read/homework/work outside while the plants are on, and play games and watch TV when the plants are being fed with light to help myself from getting spikes now. It seems to be working because I look at my electricity usage, and it's not noticeable that I have a spike.

Y don't u flower in ur current veg room? Just cut ur light cycle down, n swap lights as soon as possible. This will start ur yield off rather stringy, but shud beef up when u switch the lights. Other than that a nice pruning regime should see u keep them short
whilst really allowing your branches to thicken right up.

just take pruners and cut the plants half the size and leave under the veggie room they will still continue to grow

This is what I was thinking, if I can just get it sorted properly I should have me best yield yet off these plants!!

best adivce I think, but I would chop them down in size, make clones out of the cuts then you have 3 runs. the current plants will develop fat root system after being pruned and in the end have great a yield. If you cant do three runs root the clones and give them away to friends, then if you can get a cut from them l8tr. If you are moving or even taking a break from growing, if its a plant numbers thing as in restriction to numbers, then have a friend or associate that is also medically legal take the clones before they root

So you think basically halving the plant would be the best option?
Have you done this yourself or know anyone that has and what were the results?
I'm a bit dubious about doing this as you may understand, it makes sense on paper but does it work without stressing the plant? I know if someone cut me off at the waist i'd be pretty pissed:-P
Anyone else?

If u have the horizontal room, super crop. I'm on my phone so I can't copy paste but if u go in my journal in my signature ull see supercopped action as well as a thread called "super-copping". Its a great thread and by supercropping, it will promote strength to u stalks to support heavey nugs

WELL YOU DONT CUT IT IN HALF DOWN THE STALK LOL

sorry just had to say that..he means prune back the branches, take clones, make it a bush. Have you toped it, if not top it, if yes top all the branches back. When you cut back veggitation growth will concentrate on the roots and structure in the end bigger yield, if you dont want it to bush to much sideways prune it then place a cage around it to force growth up and you will have a coulum of buds along the sides and colas on top

Depending on what sort of lights someone uses, and how they originally hung them, some additional height room can be gained. Many times people using HID lighting will have a chain that goes from the front of the reflective hood to the rear of the reflective hood and then a single chain will hang down and is attached to the front to back chain.

Normally the front to back chain is longer than is needed to span the distance and it can be shortened and depending on each individual case some height can be gained, sometimes 6 inches or more and other times less. Still if some additional height/space can be gain by adapting how a light is hung it can at times be enough to get you by.

If it is a case, as I have run into, where the light is hung from the frame of a suspended ceiling a ceiling tile or two, depending on their size, can be removed and the light re-hung so the bottom of the reflective hood is then level with the ceiling. That will gain someone the entire height distance of their light. Again that at times can be enough.

After that it’s training time or if not late into flowering where a cola has begun to form a small/short topping can be done. That will temporarily stop and then slow down the upward growth of the two (or in some cases four) leaders that will then push out and in the mean time the lower portion of the plant will grow taller and also fill out.

Best of luck.

Thanks for the informative responses. I'm not a newb to this, it's my fourth harvest and they have got progressiveley better but still alot to learn in terms of dealing with different plants in different situations.
What I have gained so far from this thread is(as I have already ruled out Supercropping and LST due to lack of lateral space in veg room)that I can continue to top/fim all bud sites to slow vertical growth untill I reach my desired height without affecting yield too much and without overstressing my babies, would that be correct?

to some extent don't top or crop within 2 weeks of budding...better to hack her back far and let the big roots grow nice size shoots back that can pack on the buds...better to tie her than top her if there is a cola thats money bro ..a little cut everyday will stress her more..and create smaller bud sites and low yield..chop her back, and if you can take the cutting and make clones

Another option is a chem called Rock Juice or Hulk. It's stops all vertical growth on ur plants and bushes them right up. It's meant for flowering, but can be used during Veg aswel.

maybe you should have thought about this before planting so many plants knowing you dont have space.

Well thanks for the informative and helpful reply captain, i'll be sure to look you up when i'm wanting some opinions in the future!!
For your info my harvest cycle has been running perfectly for over a year now, it's just as i've added some strains with sativa type growth patterns(which I more than allowed for)which have absolutley taken off, I am left in my current predicament, thanks anyway though:-|
