Need help and advice please

I was given a plant without much knowledge about it. It looks like she wasnt treated that well and theres some pretty bad damage. This is my first time growing and I'm encountering some problems that I'm not quite sure how to fix. There is what seems to be bugs chewing on the leaves leaving holes. Also there is some leafs that are starting to turn yellow and brown. I really need some fast before I mess something up. Here are some pictures below so you can see the damage. Any advice or diagnosis would be greatly appreciated.

Ive had my leaves look like that from watering problems and the yellow from either nutes or an odd ph level

Thanks for the help. Do you have to buy the ph reader to be able to test the levels or is there some other way? Also any advice on what could be attacking my plant? I saw a couple slugs on the outside of the pot along with the spider on the plant so im thinking they might be whats causing it. Any advice will help a ton.

Spiders are good. It does look like you have some insect damage in addition to nute burn/ph problem/lockout(they can look similar). Look really carefully under the leaves. If you can't see them during the day try looking at night with a green light so you don't interrupt the plant's dark cycle. Identify what's doing the damage and find an appropriate safe pesticide to do the job.

I just started to use 1/4 strength of Miracle Grow all purpose plant food today but I didnt use a lot of the mixture since we've been getting a ton of rain around here and didnt want to overwater. Also I'm not really sure on what was used before as far as nutes so I didnt want to use a lot of the plant food because I was afraid of nute burn as well. I looked under the leaves today and I think I spoted some small circular eggs so I was thinking spidermites maybe?
