The prime problem with outside soil is that it'll be too dense when watered down into a pot. If you mixed it with some potting soil or added perlite, it would be fine. Just be sure you don' use anything with too much clay, because that'd be suuuper heavy and dense, and would just throttle your roots. I had a plant going just fine in outside dirt in a pot, but it turned male, so..
Anytime you post almost anything on here, some person will come and scream bloody murder that you're out of your mind... how do you think weed lived long enough for a bunch of dumbass humans to get their hands on it? In chemically enhanced Fox Farm soil? Err..
make since to me thanxSure, you CAN grow it in some outside dirt shoveled into a pot but it won't reach it's full potetial....your gonna get mexican dirt weed quality.....and fox farms soil isn't chemically enhanced, it's organically enhanced.
going out in your back yard and digging up some dirt to bring inside to grow in is stupid unless you live in a forest with a nice laver of compost and leaf mulch on the ground.

Yeah I threw my shit right in the ground and they are doing great. One is 7' + and buds all over it. It only gets about 4hrs direct sunlight so I'd say I'm doing good. The problem here is that someone posted a question that should have been asked on the outdoor forums. He got a cranky answer from someone who probably only grows indoor, but to his defence I would ask the question of why not just buy some good soil from a nursery? It seems easier, you wouldn't need THAT much to where the investment would be expernsive either.Well, my soil is unusually good rich stuff, so I have great plants. Lots of soil just isn't as nutritionally rich, so if you live on a bunch of clay I can see where you're coming from. That said, my soil is dark, rich stuff, and with a little compost and manure, it's the equal to anything I could find in a garden store. So warlord, drop your snotty attitude and pipe down. I'm not growing "mexican dirt weed," that's very insulting simply because I despise that premise. There's no need for your nastiness. For a forum with such a good cause and purpose, there sure is a lot of throat cutting and ugly, unnecessary and usually flat wrong criticism. Just because people know how to utilize natural soil doesn't mean they're crummy growers. It's another level of experience if anything.
hay thanks - i was trying to avoid having to keep going back and forth , in and out of the house with bags of soil all the time every 3- 4 months , i do know that a bag of soil cost next to nothing , even the high end soils, but i wanted a ways to stay under the rador and i figure that the soil in my back yard was fine to use , sence i was planing on adding nutes anyways the dirt was just a way to keep the roots moist between watering , the nutes came from me,, sorta like a dirt hydro- but i guess i was wrong form now on i will just buy some dirt thanx for responding everyoneYeah I threw my shit right in the ground and they are doing great.
