Isn't legislation of morality and personal freedom what were all up against already? The line may be drawn clearly to you but not so clear to the general public.
The two most popular flavors of tobacco for teens are regular tobacco and mint. Who is the largest distributor of these two flavors? RJ Reynolds. Its foolish to think that this ban has as much to do with the Tobacco-Free Kids Campaign when its clearly about making more money for big tobacco. Especially when you consider RJ Reynolds helped draft this legislation.
I am not a cig smoker nor do I roll cherry blunts or smoke bidis. But this ban is more damaging than you may think and will affect all of us in a negative manner eventually.

i was more about the perspective. there are rules and regulations i dont like, i dont necessarily agree with, but i like to see what i have as opposed to what i don't have. i didn't say it's good that this flavoured tobacco is being banned, i dont know enough about the story behind it to make that comment, but in what i consider important, worth investing my time and thoughts into - flavoured tobacco doesn't rate. so i say yeah let them ban it, then make an observation that even if the ban achieves nothing at all but perhaps one minor not introducing themself to smoking, then hey some good could actually come of it. so i figure it's still better to be an american, with perhaps slightly infringed civil liberties (depending on your feelings towards flavoured tobacco and general disposition) than a baby being born in the darfur. i think your different view is cool, the world needs people to think differently, otherwise we'd all think the same lol don't take offense to any of this, it's purely my opinion and not meant to attack your views at all just express mine

dude are you joking? lol i wasn't wishing for it, i was making light of it! big big difference eh.

i havent given my government any power to make any decisions, i didn't vote, and subsequently was fined for not voting. how's that for an infringement, ha.

and yes there is action in my inaction, but i can't be bothered wasting my time physically going to vote when no matter who i vote for it'll land in the lap of liberal or labour and both were turds.

Okay, I'm not defending Obama... but seriously?? Obama is banning flavored tobaccos? OBAMA isn't the one who regulates tobacco. Now, it's the FDA. THE FDA is prohibiting "candy flavors" in tobacco, NOT OBAMA. Congress passed the bill that gave the FDA control over tobacco, and Obama signed it, but other than that it's out of his hands. He's not in charge of the FDA, so if they're banning fruit flavors, then you have beef with them, not with Obama.
