This plant is about in its 7th week of flowering. Suggestions on how much longer I should let it go, and possible yield, would be great. It is grown completely ogranice, recently installed 250W metal halide. Plant is trained to the sides to maximize branch growth. Not sure of the strain but seed came from good bud. Let me know what you think

Mmm... Im not sure how many more days/weeks you should wait (I grow outdoors), but I would guess 1 or 2 weeks. Just keep an eye on the color of the pistils. When most of them are an amber tone, but not too dark brown, then its time.

thanks for the response. Id probably say about a quarter or less of the pistils have turned. This is not my first time growing and last week i harvested 4 smaller plants that were just about ready. I have a blueberry mother and a durban poison mother that i will be budding when this plant is done. Yesterday about 8 clones were taken from the two mothers and will be flowered at the same time at another location.

I have a question, Does tying the ropes like that hurt bud development? I have not seen anything about it, but am curious because I see picks of these arm length buds and start to salivate.

It will not hurt buds, as long as rope is not tied to the buds obviously. You must use a material that is not going to damage or put too much stress on the stem. I chose to use yarn, its very soft and easy to use. You can also use hemp. This training was done to give more light to lower part of plant and will definitely increase your yield. I have probably 6-8 cola buds that will be very decent size and almost all the other buds are the same size.

looks really small... if oyu ask me.. doesnt look like it will yield much, ... not really big colas..

Its not going to be a super yield, but i think i should be able to get between an ounce and two. Biggest buds will probably be around a gram or two when dry. This is the first time with this grow setup, and once this plant is done improvements will be made to maximize yield on the two other mothers that will be replacing it.

These are new pics as of last night. Is it still looking another week or so. Some buds are still growing white hairs, other are turning more hairs everyday. Either way buds are looking great, they are really swelling up. We have been using straight water every other day, and will stop watering for a few days before harvest. Any suggestions let me know.

I'd say another week at least, 2 if your patient. Do you have a microscope of some sorts? I like to harvest when the tric's are 50% amber 50% cloudy. The pistols really have no bearing on harvest time if you ask me.

The longer you wait, the fatter the buds get too so it's win win. But the waiting sucks I know

Have you tried adding carb enhancers for the final weeks? Molasses and such? Usually adds to the frostiness and enhances the taste of your bud as well.

yes have used molasses a couple times within the last 3 weeks. have noticed a difference within days every time i have done it. Didnt know if i should still be doing this so late. Also added is dried blueberry bud from earlier harvest.

Nice to know, maybe i will try with clones in the future. Trying to keep the grows completely organic.

Just buy organic molasses I suppose...

I use organic nutrients myself as well.

Try and get a HPS...MH works for flowering but ehhhh....Your plants looks great but 2 zs? Next grow get a HPS and you will double your harvest....MH just isn't the right spectrum for flowering...but i can be done....and your doing it well....+rep

Looks good man, i would say atleast a week. I would pick up a micro, there cheap at radioshack, serves its purpose anyway. You really should watch those trichs, as soon as there milky and slightly amber its ready. You should also see the bud growth slow way down when its ready, new growth spirts are good let it go till she stops.

Go a few more weeks at least. Looks lke a full blood sativa. Some sativas take up to 11 weeks. Those buds fill out the most during the last fews weeks of flowering. Ever think about using a tomato cage? If you do you can cut it open with a pair of stong wire cutters, open it up then gently wrap the horizantal part of the cage around your buds to support them. They work reallly good. and you got someting to tie more string around to support the side growth.
