Help with first grow! (Pics)

Alright so my brother gave me about 2k to set up a hydro grow tent. So I've got it all up and running.

I just got some clones from my bro, and well after a couple days they are looking bad on the bottom.

I'm using Botainicare Grow, and Liquid Karma, I did a little less than recommended strength just to be safe. I've got a 70 gal res, and a 4v4 tray.

I'm using RO water as well. PH Is sitting at 5.9. Clones are a couple weeks old. EC is around 2.2. I'm using a 600w MH.

I haven't used Cal Mag, this kind of looks like MG def but I have no idea. When I first mixed the nutrients I neglected to check the PH and the plants got a watering at a PH of around 3.6 but afterwords I got it up to 5.9.

Any help would be appreciated!

So should I just add some water then? Drain some of res, and just throw in fresh water...

What do you mean search for leaves curled like a rams horn? What should I do with them?
What are your tents temps getting up too?

Leaf tips curled downward means over fert. and upward means under fert.

If there is room in the res then fresh phed water would be fine if not, a little drain and fresh phed water.

So is fert burn the consensus?

I really thought it looked like I effed up the PH, since I watered them a couple times in ph >5.2 or so..

You know, those roots need someplace to go man.

As it is your not going to be able to grow a very large plant. Once the roots poke out the bottom the air and light kills them. If you would like to get more then 1/4 oz per plant you are going to need some hydroton or coco.

Rockwool is like a Hoover, it retains water like crazy. you got a fill and drain you probably water it a couple times a day right? Not needed. once and just touch the bottom of the cube. Once you get roots established outside of the rockwool you can water more often but as it is I think your plants are over watered over nuted and improper PH.

How to fix, Get some r/o water Ph to 5.7 pour it over the top of the cube until soaked. Take the cube and put it on a towel get the towel to suck as much of the water from the cube. don't squeeze the cube. You just flushed the cube best you can. Now don't water for three days.

In the mean time get some medium for a root system or you will end up with popcorn size buds.

Then Water with R/O ph at 5.7 for a couple days. You will see them improve. Cut off the lower leaf that looks 50% dead already and move on.

Only use half of whats recommended for nutes.

good luck man.

look up the video, mr.green i grow chronic, this should answer most of your questions. as for the plants it looks like a ph problem, i had the same thing about a week ago thinking it was an mg problem when it was just the ph being out of wack for 3 days.

I would get hydroton. Its reusable. Flush the cubes, while they are sitting on towels pour in hydroton so you have an even layer. Not thick, just about an inch. Then take off the plastic wrapper thats on the cube and set them on top of it.

Mark the side of tub so you know where the bottom of the cubes are. Now set your overflow so when it fills the water comes 1/4" above the bottom of the cube. Fill another couple inches of hydroton to protect the roots that will come out the sides.

Set your timer so all it does is fill to that point and turns off. Once a day. If you let it go for several minutes the cube will soak up lots of water and thats not what you want. You want to water the roots that will grow into the hydroton.

After a couple weeks you will have a root mass. Then you can drop the fill level 1/4" so it just barely touches the bottom of the cubes and water two or three time a day if you want because the roots have a chance to dry and absorb nutrients.
