What'cha smokin?self pollinating is one female producing pollen that makes seeds by itself, these seeds are more than likely to repeat this process
No, not really.xxplosive 420 knows what their talking about too
What is an hermaphrodite?What'cha smokin?
But, but, but.....Ahhhhhhh, crap! Not what I wanted to hear. Thanks. What is an hermaphrodite?
An hermaphrodite, or hermie, is a plant of one sex that develops the sexual organs of the other sex. Most commonly, a flowering female plant will develop staminate flowers, though the reverse is also true. Primarily male hermaphrodites are not as well recognized only because few growers let their males reach a point of flowering where the pistillate would be expressed.
Hermaphrodites are generally viewed with disfavor. First, they will release pollen and ruin a sinsemelia crop, pollinating themselves and all of the other females in the room. Second, the resulting seeds are worthless, because hermaphrodite parents tend to pass on the tendency to their offspring.
Please note that occassionally specious staminate flowers will appear in the last days of flowering of a female plant. These do not drop pollen and their appearance is not considered evidence of deleterious hermaphroditism.
Here's an image of a hermaphrodite, specifically a female plant with staminate flowers.
i think this is what i pretty much said verbatim......rob
i carried some seed back from calif. with me last year , bag seed it makes some great weed but its got the hermi trait so far every one ive grown , yet i will be growing it again ,i just pick off the male flowers when they appear and so far i haven't had any seeds , don't be intimidated by the trait, enjoy the grow process ...robSometimes the truth hurts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So many responses from all you great folks.
Looks like my 3 little seeds are bird feed.
I'm using a SH unit from Stealth Hydro. It only holds 4-6" plants. I grow in a corner and it gets pretty crowded. I cant see much and I couldnt tell I had a hermie branch until I had cut & dried it. That's another reason I wanted feminized seeds. I hate to toss out my "find", but i dont need any more problems...thanks for posting.i carried some seed back from calif. with me last year , bag seed it makes some great weed but its got the hermi trait so far every one ive grown , yet i will be growing it again ,i just pick off the male flowers when they appear and so far i haven't had any seeds , don't be intimidated by the trait, enjoy the grow process ...rob
they are females, no ifs, ands or buts, and will probably hermi too when mature. (sorry for the late response, been busy working)I read it after I read the post above and thought you were agreeing with him...So, you think these should be female? I kinda thought so before I posted asking about it.
No problem. Thanks for your input. If they turn when they are mature, I guess I should toss the seeds. I dont want that happening.they are females, no ifs, ands or buts, and will probably hermi too when mature. (sorry for the late response, been busy working)
