HFCS- high fructose corn syrups

Why not become a vegan? I have been a vegan for quite some time now. Not one product i eat has any gmo or hfcs, and all are organic. mind you i think its pretty easy for a single person to adapt a vegan lifestyle but its very expensive for a family of 5+ to adapt to the high prices of the products.
I wish I could do the vegan thing. I just enjoy meat too much. It has never took.

I'm pretty close to an all vegetarian diet, with the exception of a little chicken. Mostly, I eat fish for my protein ... but I find myself going days without any type of meat. I probably eat red meat five times a year at most. Almost everything I eat is grown organically. I shop at the local Farmer's Market or at Whole Foods Market. Also, I check every label. If there is any corn syrup, HFCS or trans fat, I put it back on the shelf.
If you haven't already you might enjoy looking into a local CSA. http://www.localharvest.org/csa/

I don't think I could go vegan/vegetarian because I, too, love my meats

plus i love my cholesterol- the sterol from which steroid hormones are derived from...and studies have shown that vegetarians/vegans have lower testosterone levels than their carnivore-counterparts. Can't get cholesterol from plant sources.

i think quality meats play an important role in our diets.

I'll shut up now before I turn this into another "who's healthier...vegetarians or carnivores?" debate lol

My usual breakfast consists of 4 scrambled eggs with cheese on top, and 4 pieces of bacon. I smoke two packs a day, a lot of pot too, and I sit on my ass all day everyday.
wooo-hooooo live crazzy!
lol, it tastes surprisingly similar. Nah, but I don't really eat like that, I don't even smoke cigarettes...I was just kidding around.
awww :(
WE all like MSG too:hump:
yeah lol sushi should be healthy for you but is there MSG in there? either way it's probably in the soy sauce lol

Its funny how they have those commercials defending HFCS.

I saw one of those the other day. Couldn't fucking believe my eyes!

Trying to get people to believe it's GOOD for you because it's made from CORN? Come on, now. Natural? My ass.

the sad part is there are many people who are probably watching and thinking, "Yeah, it IS made from corn, so it can't be that bad, right?"

Same argument we've been using in favor of cannabis use for decades and hasn't gotten us anywhere, LOL!

Actually, the tariff placed on Sucrose (table sugar) was meant to reduce importation of cane sugar grown with slave labor - it was and is a humanitarian issue.

I don't know about all the alleged negative effects of HFCS aside from it being high in calories. But, one thing is certain - when you have food manufacturers putting unhealthy stuff of any type in just about every food product we consume our health is bound to suffer.

I never want more Government control, but people ought to have the right to know when a product has been adulterated with unhealthy ingredients. There is no reason to have sugar be one of the main ingredients in bread - that's not bread it's cake. Also, just about all restaurant food is just loaded with trans-fats and other crap.

If you eat a candy bar you know what you are eating. But, the use of things like trans-fats and sugar where they don't belong is something people ought to know about. They should implement a law forcing food manufacturers to disclose the addition of traditionally atypical ingredients in common foods such as HFCS in bread.

woah. just woah- please give me an infraction-:finger:

yeah they can keep us alive but we are fat and unmotivated and our stomachs are the size of footballs when they should be the size of a baseball. not to mention wth else they put in our food, that makes us feel god knows what. so you want to be unhealthy and live forever? haven't you understood the morals to those "imortality" stories? the people who end up living forever are never happy because of all the shit that they've seen, they're full of grief.
you didn't actually answer to my quality not quantity...

and actually Fdd I take your last comment as a personal attack and would like two put ups now...not kidding

simple. its called the industrial revolution

people used to die more frequently from infant deaths, disease, infection, or something similar that modern science has been able to prevent.

The percentage of the children born in London who died before the age of five decreased from 74.5% in 1730-1749 to 31.8% in 1810-1829.[22]

It is important to note that life expectancy rises sharply in all cases for those who reach puberty. A pre 20th Century individual who lived past the teenage years could expect to live to an age close to the life expectancy of today.

All this shit is bad for us, and yes we are living longer

and I dont see anyone blaming anything for their lack of excersize. Leeny simply started a thread about the dangers of HFCS
