Well at least they were only some of the cleanings from my last stash. But great to practice with fro when I buy seeds. I am only doing a micro grow for scientific purposes and to save money on medication.

Well I have a couple thoughts, none of which may be of any use but here they are. We have well water; ph 8-9. There is no chlorine in it. Also somewhere around I have read that a small amount of chlorine in the water is actually good for plants although I could not tell you why. If these things are sprouting it is not your water. You have tried different kinds of soil. For little seedlings to just drop over dead like that it has to be something both major and basic. My guess is that you are not watering enough...new sprouts have about 1 -3" root length at the MOST. If you are waiting until the very bottom of your cup is dry before you water I think you are letting the roots dry out instead of keeping them moist. At that stage of growth you should be concerned with the first few inches of your soil.....not the last few. Keep the area WHERE THE ROOTS ARE moist but not wet and make sure you have good drainage. Hope the problem is as simple as that. Good luck.

PS you can raise ph in an emergency with baking soda and lower it with distilled white vinegar.

Are you using straight soil or are you adding perilite to it? It may not be allowing the roots to breathe enough.

i let my water stand at LEAST 24 hours and usually more because i have 4 gallon jugs and i use the oldest first. quote]

Ok noob Q... Is it ok to let the water stand in your growing room evaporating or do you leave it out side?

I cant see that it would make much of a difference but would like to know

it will raise the humidity in your room, but a positive note is it will be the exact same temperature as your soil = no water shock on the roots.

While on water the bucket I have can hold 20L`s of water now is it best to mix your nutes in with that say 1ML to every L so that would be 20ML in one go...Or is it best to mix them up as you need them say every time you need to water?

On the other side of the coin would be damping off...too much water but if you have good drainage that should not happen and I keep going back to you waiting until everything but the very bottom is dry before watering. There, that helps doesn't it? You are not watering enough OR you are watering too much. (I love answers like that) Good luck and update please....

mix it as needed, as thnigs will grow in that water to eat up those nutes if left sitting too long
