So im buying everything if I miss something important let me know please. First indoor grow.
Ill be running a 19"Cool Tube 400w HPS in a 71 3/4 in. high x 48 in. wide x 20 1/2 in. deep cabinet.
6"Can Fan 248CFM
Fox Farm Ocean Forest Soil
Technaflora Recipe for success starter pack(my Nutrients).
Ill be making my carbon filter. Gonna use the idea from (link) but gonna use the Can 33 Pre-Filter as the outside filter.
Gonna get a cheap ph/moister/light meter from home depot till i can afford a better one.

My plant is to have about 12 SCROG plants. Gonna veg for a week then flower.

The only question I have is
Will i be alright to veg under a 400w hps for the week I veg? Cause Im limited on money and would rather spend it on other things till i get more money and able to buy one.
Also, ill be moving soon with in the next month or two but I want to get my system started. Could I move the plants to the new location during the 12 hour On cycle?

Any input is appreciated. Like I said this is my first indoor grow and all of my outdoor grows were never with nutrients.

the best advice i've heard from the Pro's on this forum, that i agree with, state...... START SMALL. buy as little as necessary. you simple dont need all that for seedling/younglings. wait till you know you got something that works.

Ive done a few outside but none inside. After this harvest I plant to have my Mother/clone station set-up going so I can put my clones after they root into 12/12 cycle.

IMO, I'd wait the month or two. Spend your time saving money and gathering the supplies you need. But, if you really want to start things right now, yes you can veg with the 400w HPS. Just keep the light a good distance away from your seedlings.

Or, you could make a cheap light setup using 1 power strip, 3 Y-sockets, and 6 23w 65K CFL's. (Under $35.00) This way you wouldn't have to set up the HPS and all the vents, fans, etc.

Good luck! I'm setting up my own grow room and my dimensions are almost the same as yours....with almost the same setup!!

Are you just sucking the hot air from the cooltube or are you also pushing cool air through the opposite side?

I assume you've done the work to find the good grow equipment at the lowest price one place I would like you to look is the place I got my last grow equipment and they seem to have some the best prices around
http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/

I would look at there valueline fans and I have no idea what you are spending for your ballast, cool tube, etc. or if you got some sort of package deal but my thoughts on getting grow equipment is get the right equipment the first time around and you will never have to replace when/if you upgrade or if you decide to change things around when you move. So look around and make sure thats what you want not just for now but in the future. Also a hps will be fine for the week before flowering so there is no real need to get another light for veg if you already have lights for the clone room. is the inside of your room white because with a room only 20 inches wide you want the light to reflect of the walls otherwise your going to have a lot of wasted light thats hitting the walls but not reflecting back onto your plants. One thing you forgot that I would say is really important is a digital thermometer/humidity meter you can get 1 for like 10-15 $ at walmart or home depot and they will give you a high and low temp/humidity reading and it will help you control your environment better. Also if you are planning on moving and are moving your plants DON'T DO A SCROG it will be a real bitch to move and you will end up hurting your plants.

So i purchased pretty much everything today except some Mylar or panda film, I also couldnt find a bulb in my price range can afford to spend 90 bucks on a single bulb i have around 60 so thats my goal for tomorrow. As for my fan i ended up getting a EcoPlus In-Line Classic 6". and i did get a temp gauge.

check out cheaphydroponics.com for supplys. nehydro.com, growwurks.com, htgsupply.com for lights. i just ordered a nextgen 400/600w switchable ballast and cooltube from growwurks. their shipping is slow as hell but if everything works as it should it was a really good deal. i was planning on buying the cheapo 400w hps and cooltube from htg supply, but was convinced by everyone on here to spend the exta $$ and get the digital 400/600 switchable ballast. i am planning on running 600w in the winter and 400 in the summer. plus when i get a bigger grow room i will have the 600 watt ballast that can run hps OR metal halide bulbs.
