Whats up guys...I'm currently using an ebb & flow type system...please understand that I live NOWHERE near anywhere that sells the recommended supplies for a hydro system and I had to make do with what I could find...and trust me I did a whole hell of alot of searching...
Type: Ebb & Flow
Media: Pea gravel
Nutes: 8-4-4 something I just picked up at home depot.
Lighting: I started with a 70w HPS and have currently switched over to CFLs.

I've been thinking about picking up a co2 system but not really sure yet. Heres some pics lemme know what you think

P.S. I have a nosey ass landlord and this is the only safe spot i could put it which is in my closet and I'm working with minimal room.

Nice job....What are you planning on doing to mask the smell? I wouldn't worry about Co2. Just talk to your plants everyday and they will get enough Co2.

havent really thought about, i heard about an ionizer a few times but it seems kinda expensive what would you suggest?

another question...I'm not exactly sure what temp the room should be at but if i keep the door closed for a good while it seems to get pretty hot and humid in there...How often should i water these three plants I had about 150 less wattage on the schedule i had it on before which was 6x 15 minute watering cycle for a 24/0 ratio of light. but it seems like when i got rid of the hps and converted to more wattage in cfls that my media is getting dryer than usual.

You need to keep the room as cool as possible. I know its going to be tough but ideally 75 with humidity about 50%. It can be higher humidity during veg.

bone would it be better if i had lower than 50% humidity or higher for veg? i can reduce it some by leaving my door open a bit

also im still unsure as to how much to feed the plants...like i said i was doing 6 waters per 24 hour cycle running water through the system for 15 minutes each time. I added one more cycle to it today to see how it does, if it shows stress ill cut it back but i plan to continue with the water until told otherwise or see signs of stress...suggestions are appreciated

a friend of mine is going to let me use his ionizer...3 plants shouldnt be able to keep up with it, I'm still uncertain as to weather the additional watering cycle i added helped or hurt the plants all i know is i woke up this morning and they were standing straight up not just the stem of the plant but the leaves were standing straight up ....suggestions are appreciated

as far as my lighting goes what do you guys think, I'm running 8x23w blue spectrum cfl and 4x23w red spectrum cfl's, will I need more lighting eventually or will this last me the whole grow? The largest hps i can find near me is a 70w and it seems to be a piece of shit I actually had one and returned it so its looking like ill be going cfl's all the way

depends on how long you gonna veg

the oldest one is just coming up on a month ill prolly veg them for another 2 months then start the flowering 3 months veg and 2 months flowering are what i estimated on doing

then you might need to add a few lights or find a way to position the ones you have where they are most needed

thanks for the suggestion Im looking into mylar as a matter of fact....work in progress....any other suggestions are much appreciated

so i upgraded a few things...here are some new pics I also purchased an ionizer but didnt get a pic of it....if anyone has more suggestions please feel free to post here.

I know this sounds like a plug but king Cervantes offers a dvd for people like us who have minimal room and a tight budget. I follow his advice all the time and it pays off. The small tips that save tons of time and money more than pay for the dvd and/or book. I also HIGHly recommend the Marijuana Bible also by Cervantes. It's packed with priceless info that only trial, error and experience can teach and it's all right there and easy to read, even for stoners such as us. On a side note, if you are going to use cfls then your going to need a few more to get the most out of your grow. I would suggest above and a few along the wall(s) if you can, and make sure the lamps are rated at 5000 deg. Kelvin or 11,000 lumens to best replicate the spectrum of natural sunlight. Hope everything works out and happy tokin.

*addition* I would aslo like to add that White Visqueen Plastic is the way to go when it comes to lining your room. It's white on one side and black on the other. and you may want to add a hood to your lights to maximize efficiency.

yea ive been realizing that about my lights...im going to have to get larger watt cfls instead of these 23w's due to the space problem i figure if i get several higher watts my lumens will be alright

but as of now i'm getting about 7.5k lumens in the box which i know is enough but not quite what it should be for a good grow...thanks for the insight I'm downloading the cervantes dvd now
