Here's my first real grow box,I built it inside out to control air intake (through cracks and crevices) It is a 4'(w) x 3'6"(d) x 5'(h).
I will be using the advanced nutes for the first time.I will be experimenting with the sensi 2 part 2+ (on my w/widow+ (1)nl x shiva)and the 3 part 2+(on my w/rhino).(5 w/w and 6 w/rhino unkown how many are viable,they are around 2-4 years old,don't remember when I got them but can check through my seedbay account). PS,the nlxshiva was purchased same time 10 pack nirvana for $125,can't beat that.but gave a ton away and never saw a nug from one.this is why I'm in it for me this time,and only u guys know about it.So keep it on the DL(down low)lol.
The medium will be a lava rock x course vermiculite and it goes like this;
fill the bottom about 2 inches with the rocks and then an inch layer of vermiculite,then inch layer of L-rocks,then an inch layer of vermiculite,and so on till u get 1 inch from the top.dig a small big enough to put the peat pellet in,put the peat pellet in with ur baby after the roots start to show out side the mesh,then apply more vermiculite till it comes about an 1" to 1 1/2" above the pellet.now ur set.(this medium is as close as u will get to hydro,the medium is neutral and has no nutrients or extra contaminants)
I will post pics of this system before to long,not at that point yet.
I have built my own reservoir and just found out I need to build 2 more,I must remember to wash out as stipulated for growing options.
In one pic u can see the 1000 hps I will be using during the last 2-4 weeks(depending on strain)keeps electricity down,not to mention real budding starts late.no sense in raising flags at local energy company.
another pic is of my little nl x shiva from nirvana,about 7 days since it poked it's head out,under 24 hours for now and will reduce to 20 hours in a week (better female rate with 20 hours,so I was told,no proof yet but 1 out of one will be niiiiiiice)
that is a cfl two foot light with 2 double 4100k daylight series and I will go to 3000k for flower,maybe upgrade to the 2700k.I bought it on ebay and it's sweet,I need 2 more,but runnin low on dough.(I need beans)
the next is of the square exhaust atop the box with 5 active carbonated filters.I had to cut and modify the fan to mount on the outside(bought on ebay)it's an ultra quite fan(bought on ebay new for $12+ship) ,it's 3 somes and gives out 50 cfm's.So my box's air is circulating over 2 times a minute.
