Is it bad for the plants to have the sulfur burner always on?

Yes! You'd better not be running that with the lights on, or you're going to kill your plants!! Only use it periodically. Some say you can use it every night if you want, but if your situation is that bad in the first place, you need to rethink how to setup your growroom IMO.
 
i hope this isn't in your house, because sulfer is poison and will fuck up your lungs. on top of that, it will make everything within close proximity smell like sulfer (ie. carpets, clothes...etc)

not to run it with the lights on???? i just read that u should have the sulfur burner on when the lights are on....

its not that bad my humidity is 40 when lights r on but 80 when lights off and i think thats whats been causing the powerdry mildew to come back from time to time..

so far i have been turning the sulfur burner on whenever it needs to be on but i thought mayb e it wwould be ok to leave it on always...

does it harm the plants in anyway?

The sulfur gas lands on the leaves of the plant and the surrounding material. The lights will cook the leaves and they will definitely die off or suffer severe stress. NIGHTIME ONLY!!! Also, the closer you get to harvest, the more you'll need to find alternatives to using sulfur. Since it sticks to the plant material, especially resin-filled buds and leaves, you don't want people smoking it. These are called sulfites. Same reason why wine bottles get labeled for sulfites when the grapes get sprayed with sulfur for powdery mildew.
 
i have mine on a timer. it comes on every day for 45 mins when the lights are OFF. i leave all the fans running at all times. everything looks great. :)

Without it, would the wineries and vineyards during crushtime be making things difficult for you?

I thought we talked about this before. No? One of my other buddies who grows hates crush time around here for that sole reason. Says it's a bitch to deal with this time of year, although, for the moment things on my end are doing very well. I had a hard time with powdery mildew the last cycle though, because of how cool/foggy this summer's nightimes have been.

Powdery mildew. Burning sulfur is easy, but I opted for alternative solutions the closer it got to harvest because I didn't want it in the buds/smoke in the end. I found that Serenade worked extremely well, but for a large garden, may be very time consuming and tedious, hard work. IMO, in the end, the time is well worth the effort though.

i stop burning sulphur a few weeks before i harvest. the mildew doesn't have time to attack in those few short weeks. :eyesmoke:

Yea ive heard of seranade as well but these rooms are too big there is no way i could be rubbing down all thes plants

U know i dont really even smoke this stuff, more just to get rid off.. but still if im gonna do it i may as well be doing it right and not hurting my yield and peoples health...

do u find mildew attacks more often towards the end as the buds contain more moisture.....

my mildew usually comes in on my clones. if i can stop it while it's in veg then i'm doing good. it can show up at any time though.

Really in clones?? like stil in the domes.. thats nuts ive never heard of that... maybe ur cubes/peat pellets are to moist.... do u ever wipe down the inside of ur domes ,i do every day before i give them a spray.... fdd that really shouldnt happen.. ive heard of getting mildew in veg and bloom from big differnces in humidity day to night but never as clones... mayeb theres some mold in ur clone area or something u should relaly look into that its not normal....

the cuttings were taken from plants that had mildew. i used to see it on all the clones from the club.:cuss:
