interesting Situation

Ok so I live on a farm and we have had a few patches of wild marijuana, or what I thought was wild growing. It grows in the same spot year after year. Never paid much attention to it until this year. I believe harvest time in the midwest is middle of Sept. to middle of Oct. So I have been checking it every week and have noticed that there are some crystals growing on them. They are glitter in the sunlight. Are theses thc crystals? So does this mean that it isn't wild marijuana\hemp? Could it be that some one years ago was growing quality bud in these spots? Is there anyway to check besides harvesting and smoking? Also I noticed that there were seeds in the bud and some actually fell out. Does this mean its ready to harvest? There aren't any red or amber hairs, more like green hairs. I will try to get pics..

Wild marijuana grow randomly in different spots around the US. We have some near me...but it's just so filled with seeds no one even bothers. Smoke that shit. haha

Ya I know it grows everywhere but I didn't think it would hsve crystals on it like high quality bud. I always heard that wild or ditch weed will give you a bad headache.

Next year I'd cull the males and see what you can get with it sensimilla. It would probably be a good idea to nute them a few times also after you get all the men gone. Seeds falling off the plant are no indication of it being ready to be harvested, seeds take about 3 weeks or so to fully mature with a healthy plant.

Also Mr. Gooseegg, commercial hemp plants produced no resin, that's what grows wild now in some parts of the states. He was assuming that's what his wild cannabis was.

Ya but some strains have more then others like any of the white widow strains. So does hemp or wild marijuana have crystals all over the bud and leaves?

Didn't I just answer that? Prolly a good idea to do some reading bro and up your MJIQ. The more resinous strains tend to come from the middle east.

So there is no correlation between resinous crystals and quality of bud. And I know I do not have a high MJIQ. If I did I wouldn't be asking questions. This site and people like u are educating me. Thank u sir

That's why I suggest reading instead of being a dick. Knowledge is power brah.
I'm pretty sure he wasn't being a dick.

Anyway, hemp does not produce thc. Herm...uhh...yeah, but the shit that grows wild in michigan...it's adapted to the weather patterns here...and anyone who has lived in michigan knows it's shit. I was thinking of cloning a female...and doing a whole batch of it...seems like it would finish on time and everything, seeing as it's adapted to the michigan weather.

No way to tell dude, just toke it up. If you get a headache...you know.

I was talking about myself~

The wild stuff is generally remnants of the Sativas that were cultivated for fiber. Many of the seeds originated in India/Africa and came to the states with the British colonists. Nobody really knows where the stuff the Native Americans burnt originated though. Hemp is a far superior means of fiber production over cotton.

i didn't know until the first NORML radio show last saturday that really - good hemp produces 1 - 3% THC - that is the kind that made the first jeans which have been found to be near indestructible - pot laws force farmers to grow a crappy variant so that people wont test positive from eating a hemp seed bagel or some such crap.. the REAL hemp is a better fiber and would be a bigger cash crop..

so, perhaps you've found some actual hemp?

About 45 years ago when I lived in Iowa we came across a patch of hemp. It was in late Sept. and it was probably somewhat mature. Long story short, we picked it and tried to smoke it but it was shit. So I threw about 10 plants in a loft above my (moms) garage. A couple of weeks later I remembered I put it up there and tried smoking it again. Well it worked. I had to smoke a full joint but I got a little buzz and at that time in my young life seemed like a big buzz. I was lucky as I accidently picked it at full maturaty and cured it somewhat like schwag but you could get "high" if you smoked enough of it. The plant was about 6' tall with a number of colas (I didn't know what they were then) and sativa type leaves only slighty wider than the leaves on pure sativas. Very seedy too but after sifting those out I had near 2 lbs. Being back in 1965 in the Midwest I became a very popular kid.

But I wouldn't waste your time with it. Plant some good stuff!

Oh yeah, let them go until just before the first frost then pull em if your going to sample them.
