I need professional opinion since this is my first grow and I had some issues. Plant number 6 started to show some leaf burns and i haven't used any nutes yet...so i assumed that my soil had too much nutes and i flushed it...and after a day or two it started to grow..only the bottom leaves the ones that were affected started to dry out...all my plants' leaves are curling down a bit...maybe i am overwatering?..I water every 4-5 days...please advise?

The plants sprouted on 14th of August and were kept in small pots for one week...i then transplaned them in big pots on 21sy of August...during transplantation they were between 5c and 10cm tall and since the stems were a bit weak i burried them and covered with soil all the way to the first set of leaves...the stems are much better now...

THe light i'm using is HPS 400W and i keep it at 40cm from the plants, 18/6...grow area is 1m X 1m X 2m and temeprature is around 26, 27 degrees celsius...humidity around 40%...i had some problems with the temp. in the begining..it was reaching 34 degrees sometimes and i assume it caused growth to slow down a bit....after i fixed the ventilation issues and stuff, the plants started to grow faster and all in all they showed signs of recovery...

I am using tap water with pH level of around 7...i am planning to buy pH down next week to lower pH to let's say 6.5...i am guessing my plants will probably be happier...

Soil is a regular soil for flowers and it contains some nutes ...pH is 6.5-7.2,,,and has some styrofoam in it..

I still haven't started giving them nutes, I am planning to start next week since they will be 1 month old...is that ok or should i wait...are they too small? ...is the lack of nutes causing slow growth?...please advise since i am doing my best but i have a feeling they are not growing fast enough...thanks a lot

Your soil looks very wet and very dark....no perlite. It needs something like perlite in it too increase drainage and air to the roots. They look like they need some food. I would give them a dillute dose of some nutes (1/4 strength) and see what happens. Get your light as close as you can without burning them so they don't stretch too much. Your soil pH sounds o.k. Feed them and give them a couple of days to see what happens. Best of luck my friend.

Thanks...soil looks dark because i watered the plant today....instead of using perlite i mixed the soil with styrofoam..i've read that it can also be used to provide more air for the roots and provide better drainage....the light is already at around 40cm(15 inches) form the plants and since it is very hot 400W HPS i am afraid to put it close...you think i should?...they don't seem to be stretching too much...thanks for the answer, i am buying some nutes next week.....

I gave them food for the first time(i probably should have started earlier)....and over night they got dark green and leaves started growing big...in just two days they look completely different...healthier...they were probably starving...i assume...so..i gave them 1/2 of proscribed dose of nutrients...when should i give them the next dose...i was thinking of going for every second watering...is that ok?...it says on the label to feed the plant once a week....so if i water every 3,4 days and give them nutes every second watering....then i would be giving them nutes once a week...right? :)

to bad you have no way to measure the runoff of the nutes in your soil, they look over waterd or poor drainage, and /or nute burn starting.but its hard to give nutes to a plant that has nutes in the soil unless you can flush it all out

I think i over watered them a bit...i mixed my soil with styrofoam and i think drainage is ok...i'll see what happens...because as soon as I fed them they came back to life...leaves not drooping any more, even the yellow leaves started to get green....

Thank you guys! Well the problem was that the soil was lacking nutrients...should have started giving nutes a long time ago.....and i did the opposite..i flushed the plants because i though the leaves were starting to burn due to too much nutes in the sol...and it was the complete opposite....they were starving...big mistake...so finally i gave them some nutes... NPK 636 fertilizer....and i am doing this once a week and ..anyway you can see the result :)
