Hey everyone, I'm new to this site but i've seen a lot of great information on here and i'm lookin for more. This is my second grow, first one didn't go so well using CFL's, this time around but a 175 metal halide and a 150w hps for flowering (2x2 closet grow). I'm seeing a lot of pictures of single plants with multiple "main stems" where as my plants only have 1 main vertical stem. Right now my main concern is how to change the plant to what I want to get out of it yield wise. Some things i've been hearing are in regards to topping and supercropping? I'm currently in day 43, pictures to come tomorrow. Widow is 19 iches and afghan kush is 14" but much wider, thanks

You are on the right train of thought. Topping/fimming, supercropping, lst or scrogging will all help increase your yields. The basic idea is to get as much of the plant as close to the light as possible, and fill your entire growspace with bud sites.

what is LST and scrogging? ive heard the terms but idk what that is
LST=Low Stress Training. Basically it means tying down the top of the plant so it is no longer at the top, which promotes side branching. Check out these vids:
LST 1
LST 2

ScrOG=Screen of Green. This involves using a net, mesh or screen, and training the plant underneath it. This makes sure that no part of the plant is taller than any other, and all buds become equally dominant, rather than one large cola.
ScrOG Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4

It's never too late to lst, although the branches can be hard to bend sometimes, and you may have to do the bending in several stages to prevent it snapping. The earlier you do it, the better, but it can be done at any time. If you do actually snap a branch, don't worry too much, as they usually repair themselves.

cool cool, but if u bend the top of the plant over like in an upside down U shape wont that expose the wrong side of the leaves to the light? or am i thinking of the wrong way to do it
