Is it too late or too early?

So me and a friend were walking and found about ~30 NATURALLY growing plants. Being prepared i cut some sample tops off to see if its good smoke. When i looked at the plants i thought i was harvesting early because the buds were thin but had alot of milky/clear trichomes. But then i looked at it ahain and its just alot of seed pods covered in trichs, but no bud or flower tp it so i thought maybe i missed my chance. Someone please tell me if i missed my chance or if i still have to wait for it to flowering.

P.S. These plants have been naturally growing here for like 30 years im NOT a thief

Aldo i woulf NEVER steal someones plants, trust me. But i heard like 5years ago that they used ti ship old mary jane on those tracks like 30years ago. But bassically the plants line those tracks for miles. So please i am almost possitive natural plants are anyones game and i would hate to be a thief im not like that

read my first response, its still to early for ideal harvest, but if the grower (assuming someone does infact care for them) notices some buds missing, hell harvest and you will be too late. if they really are naturally growing plants, they should be ready to harvest in about 2 weeks or a little bit into october. keep an eye on when its gonna frost in your area
