aerogarden help

I am a long time smoker who has never grown before, I live in an apartment and have very little space. I have been dreaming of growing in one of these new Aero-gardens I've seen on infomercials but all of the posts I've seen about it just say its only good for cloning and getting plants started. Ive been doing research on the internet and I believe it might work for small yields, if the plants are either bonsai or a very small scale S.C.R.O.G. screen of green technique is used. Will this work? If so what will work best, any tips?

you can get more yield from one plant in a 5 gallon dwc than you can from an aerogarden-sog......and spend less doing it.......WAY less.

look at some of the aerogarden harvest pics -
they were getting like 7 grams of fluffy bud per plant, with 2 or 3 plants total. Not worth the 3-4 weeks of veg and 8 weeks of flowering if ya ask me.

BUT, they do veg like an SOB in the aerogarden.

Thanks for the tip, but I don't know what a 5 gallon dwc is. Can you tell me what it is and maybe how to put one together cheaply. I literally have no space to grow and have never grown before, so I need something that's incognito and fool proof for beginners.

Well what I am doing with mine is growing three plants..
one of which will hopefully be a beautiful mommy.
I am going to transplant that(theoretically) into another cabinent I have built into soil, then clone her 4 plants at a time...

aero gardens are great for low ryders and other dwarf strians
so if u av no space try em

i mounted the lights and hood from the AG inside on the top of a 4' x '2 wooden box, painted the whole inside flat white, and added a 43 watt CFL in there as well just to have a lil extra light. everything is workin pretty good so far since i only have 4 plants goin right now.

It's good for small spaces. It has limitations but it wasn't designed to grow M/J. If you're growing for personal use only and you want something self contained and easy on energy then I've found it a good system. Your harvest will be small but sweet.

Actually there are better ways to clone and start than with an A/G but they'll get the job done. If you're satisfied with a small personal harvest you'll find it a good way to grow.

i am currently using an a/g deluxe for two plants, hindu kush an widow xxx. its been a week and they both look very nice. since everyone suggests only starting in an a/g, how would i go about transplanting since it would be from an aeroponics system to soil? also when would be a good age and size to transplant? im guessing while they are small so its easy handling and less trauma, but they do veg way faster in the a/g. i have the same hk an wwxxx combo in big pots and i can clearly see the differences in veg growth.

also i would like to add that there is virtually no maintenance with the a/g, except i cleaned mine out and throughly inspected it before i used it. other than reading the manual and doing what the machine tells you to do when it happens (there are lights that indicate when to add water and nutrients). for a noob like myself and others with the a/g, its more or less fool proof compared to the other girls that i have in pots that need continual maintenance. yes, i was a little disappointed when i realized i just dropped nearly 200 bucks on some dinky little grow machine that i could have probly built for a little more then a quarter of the price, but it saved me time and convenience, and at least i know for a fact everything will operate smoothly because its a developed and tested unite whereas im simply a noob.
