Switching from DWC to Soil?

I feel horrible about switching over but just cant keep any res temps down in my hot house. Im using cfls and 90w ufo leds but the temps are still 77-85 with three fans. When your house is 78 all the time, you cant do much.

So anyhow my plants are in a DWC now and roots are starting to come down out of the pots, just cant control the algae. Plants look really healthy.

Can I just use a bag of Pro Mix and continue to use my GH 3 parts nutes as usual? There is no hydro store near me and Im not going to pay shipping for Fox Farms soil. I feel like a total failure here and just want to turn things around.

Those temps are good. If you got algae it's cuz of light leaks into the water. You could recirculate with a separate control bucket and drop bottle of ice in there. Temps should go down at night and usually aren't a problem until late in the day, but you already said you have a constant 78 degrees so???

You should at least do DWC during the winter and switch out to soil or Promix during the hotter months. Whatever.

I was so happy the day I switched from hydro to soil.
No more changing out resevoirs.
No more pumps
No more aerators
Alot less cleaning
Alot less problems

I grew hydro for a long time, I got tired of all the maintenance.
Plus always having to check everyday if your pumps and timers are working.

Soil is waaaay easier, and alot less headaches.

The only difference between the 2 is speed.
Hydro is fast.
Soil takes a bit longer

Yeah thinking about going to soil. My plants are decent size but no where near pics of others plants Ive seen after 2 weeks. Algae isnt as bad after res change but there is still some gooop on my roots. Can I use GH three part on soil?
