Misting plants= intensifying light?

I've always known that misted water intensifies light (learned this tanning, LOL)

I was just wondering if this theory would apply to my babies as well. I've searched around but couldn't find anything on this pertaining to marijuana plants.

Would misting the leaves on a regular basis help intensify the light, therefore leading to better photosynthesis?

Would there be any possible down sides to doing this?

Any input would be appreciated!

It would burn the plants?

That just seems a little weird, in nature they'd have a light dew on them every morning. Would the plants burn outdoors?

Has anyone personally had their plant leaves get burned just because of misting the leaves?

are you growing with an hps? For sure your plants will roast if you mist them with your hps on....go read the growfaq if you dont believe me or you can just do a simple search up top for "misting plants".

If you are growing with an hps misting can also cause your bulb to explode if you get the light wet.

I have experience but please dont listen to me if you dont want to, you will get the same response I gave you from some of the experienced growers.

Have either of you guys even grown indoors with HID lighting?

I'd suppose that if you've got your plants on 24 hours light then misting might be a bad idea?

I just figured since water is naturally misted on the plants outdoors that it prolly would be beneficial in some way to the plant.

Any other input or opinions would be much appreciated.

no problem...the thing about the dew on plants in the morning outdoors is the light is not as intense at that time.

Misting your plants really doesnt do much anyways. You want to keep your humidity around 40-50% and if your misting it will be higher im sure.

actually i am growing under hps have been for a long time probably longer than this site has been hear and yes i mist my plants and have been for a long time if you spray your light it will explode you don't mist the light misting at night is no good ever hear of powdery mildew ive grown for 8yrs now and grow faq don't know expieriance if you spray during flowering you will mos def have problems do what you want ii know my herb is good

well I have personally burned my plants due to misting. I grow with a 600 watt hps and a 250mh for my moms. I never said its good to mist your plants with the lights off, and im glad you arent havign problems misting your plants buuut it is still fact that misting your plants will most likely burn them.

So you said you mist your vegging plants? That means you veg with an hps? I mean you can do that but its not the best and if you have so much exp. you should know this.

I dont really see why you mist your plants anyways unless your doing a foliar feeding.

i use a mh for veg but that wasn't your q you asked if use hps and i do i just can think right when im on a roll and like i said it gets the dust from the air that settles on your leaves and keep pores from cloging, in sorry to hear it didn't work for you, thats why i have a fan for circulation the leaves are only wet for a short time

that is pure bullshit. I not only mist my plants I foliar feed them once a week as well. I grow indoors and before I bought my t-5 light a month or so ago I was using hps, still have one in use. Never had a plant burn from it. Maybe you don't have a ventilation system. You are right about one thing. I hate it when people try to argue with me when they now I'm right. Mist em. VV

in addition to that i spray them with neem oil once a week as part of preventative maintnance for insects. Still doens't burn them. VV
