not saying i have it, but if i did just finish drying 4+ lbs of buds how would i cure this

it would be insane to use the jar method on all this bud

could i just put it all in a trash bag and pull all the air out of it and then follow the same steps as the jar method

or could i build a box made of wood

what could i do

i do have an old mini-fridge wouldnt that work like the jars?

i really want to know if the box would work cuz ifso i can build it big enough so that all i have to do is open it with out taking all the buds out and then putting them back in- trying to make this as low effort as i can

what about a big ass 30 + gal. tote

Personally, unless it's for personal consumption, I think the curing stage is way overrated. Sure, it might be nice to smell sweet goodness all the time, but for those of us with regular jobs who work our asses off in addition to what other things we might be doing, it seems like more hassle than it's worth.

Not saying that I've done this before, but it fetches no better or worse price on the market from the people I've known. lol

Good luck on curing your imaginary bud. Hahaha

curing seems very hi or miss in peoples opinions. i've only harvested one lot, so can't easily commen, but the smoke sucked, until about a week into cuing when it suddenly started tasting and hitting like a weed should.

just buy some large tuppaware tubs for kitchens etc. at work we have air tight 25 liter tubs and that lot, that would work jsut dandy, pop the lid each day kazaaaaaaaam

something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sistema-Klip-Container-7-Litre/dp/B00284AG5U/ref=sr_1_5/280-9686569-0235153?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1253965383&sr=8-5

:)

4lb, hehehehe, yes pleassss

You know you would get a wide range of opinions when you asked the question, right? Mine is that curing is very important. And if I put the work into growing 4 pounds nothing would stop me from taking the final steps to do it right. I don't see why it would be insane to use jars. A quarter pound goes in a quart jar so you are talking about 16 jars. And to open and air them it would take a half hour a day for 30 days. If you wanted to cut the work further you could get half gallon jars and have 8. Just my opinion - the finishing touches often make all the difference.

8 - 16 jars every gatdamn day for 30 days
i do have a job other then burping jars and waiting for the buds to redry just to put them back in

the tupperware sounds doable

Whatever you use, dont use wood... or anything that will absorb moisture. The whole point of curing is to slow dry

shudnt the curing medium be glass..?
wee fish tank and if u got a suitable air tight lid could be handy even..
unless the plastic has no ill effects on the bud by all means use tuperware

why not wood
isnt like the paperbag method

couldn't i build a wooden box
kinda misses the point of curing.

a wooden box will work like a paper bag, in that fact that it will dry it out real quick, suck the moisture out of it. the idea of curin g as far as i'm aware is that you seal the bud in an airtight glass container (if it is specifically glass i do not know why :)) and the cure basically allows the whole thing to spread the moisture retained throughout the bud and then dry it across the whole thing evenly, in a slow process.

here is where i guess, the burping each day is to allow the moist air to escape and let fresh dry air in, you then reseal and the new air picks up the moisture. and repeat

you remind me of my first and last growing partner who wanted the most for the least. when told that we needed to turn the plants 1/4 turn each day so they receive even lighting he replied, 'fuck that, turn 100 plants every day. shit, even lighting isnt my problem.'

its not real curing, but i know guys who 'cure' half pounds in gallon ziplock bags for a week or two before they go to market. can you handle that? 8 whole bags to open daily:roll:

that much can only be for selling so you're earning roughly £2560 for opening and closing 16 jars for 10 minutes every day for a month. WOWWZ. 16 jars really isn't that much. i have 4, and that takes me what, 7 seconds to open, and 15 seconds to close.

My mom has a glass jar with dry beans in it. It would probably hold ten pounds of weed. It's huge. I need to talk her out of it. I want that jar!

Damn if you take any pride in your plants you will go thru the necessary steps to make sure it comes out as great as possible.

If you are willing to take the time to build a wooden box, which is a bad idea, you should be able to take the time to open and close some jars/containers everyday, which would be a good idea.

fucking word! split the time to build a box up over 3-4 weeks and youve got the same amount of time it would take to burp jars.

hell, i used to burp a whole case of quart jars at a time. just leave them in the case they came in, spin off all the lids, smoke a bowl, spin them back on and put the box away. couldnt possible take more than 5 minutes a day.
