Misting plants= intensifying light?

it is not pure bullshit that misting CAN burn your plants.

But honestly why do you mist them unless your foliar feeding or using some sort of insecticide.

The only time you need to mist with plain water is when you have clones because they need high humidity.

Your vegging/flowering plants only need about 40-50% humidity so if your humidity is good why mist them with plain water? Unless of course you somehow got dirt or something else on them I don't recommend misting your plants.

It only takes one small spec of water to make your bulb burst so if you must mist be careful. (id rather not take the chance when theres no real benefits)

We are getting a tad bit off topic anyways, the whole point was that misting with plain water is not necessary and I cant think of any benefits, plus it can burn your plants

I don't believe there are many folks in this froum that can call me young. My youngest son is 34. I didn't say you couldn't put your 600 watt light too close to plants you misted and burn the shiot out of them and I didn't say spray the light. I do it for the same reason hot and sexy does, I like the way it looks. You better let Jorge know you aren't supposed to mist plants, along with every other gardener that has ever written a book.
Sorry, I just couldn't get that picture of misting up, just a little, not too much, just let it glisten there for... what was I talking about. As I said, welcome to the forum Hot and that other stuff. VV

Right, i'm not doubting your growing experience, as I know you are knowledgeable in growing weed, but I am simply saying that I used to 'mist' as in spray my plants with a vapouriser while using a 600W HPS bulb in a small closet and I had strange burns on the leaves of the uppermost plants. My friend informed me it was from the droplets of water acting as little magnifiying glasses and when I stopped 'misting', the burns gew out.

on side is saying dont do it because misting with just water is only good if you need to clean the plants otherwise its just a pointless risk to take.

The other side is saying yeah but it helps get dust of the leaves and clear the pores also it makes them look pretty and as long as you are careful it will all be fine...
I say If your going to mist your plants with water for a nice picture simply do it away from your hps so that it aint gona blow up on ya (these things sound crazy :o), i have seen many misty cannabis pictures and it makes them look so gawjus! If your misting just for the fun of it then it seems pretty pointless to me also, misting to get the dust of and clean the pores also fine :) and if you have never misted your plants but lied and said you had just to get in the argument then......:finger::finger::finger:





You see what i did with the colors there? one side is blue the other is red but combine them together and they make purple :D

O yeah i remember now i think, nope.....

I was going to do blue and yellow = green but the yellow would have been to hard to read :D

as i mentiond erlier i mist for a reson but everyone must have been to pissed to read that. I don't know its really no big deal someone was careless and burnt thair plant so it must be bad

It's pretty and I dunno, I just think it's the "right" thing to do, I mean when it rains outside it doesn't just hit the soil... I just wanted to make sure I wasn't risking my babies.

I don't care for any "slapping" politics, simply sharing my very limited knowledge that I find misting good, but I do it right before lights off as it has burnt my top leaves in the past.

so what is everyones reason for misting, what does misting with plain water do besides clean your plant?

Unless your cleaning your plant there is no fucking reason to mist besides taking pretty pictures, foliar feeding, and spraying insecticides of some sort.

so as another member said....if you wanna take pretty pictures with misted water ,move your plant away from the hps.

Personally I prefer taking pictures of the pretty resin glistening on my plant. Not glistening water on a vegging plant.
