Who exhausts out of their house?

I thought a chimney had hot air coming out of it anyway
Well there are mixed arguments throughout the thread about whether it would be detected. I have a 400w HPS and thought about the chimney, even cut it in but decided against it after reading a few threads such as this previously on RIU. I am now going to vent through a door to the entire top level of my house, the real question is do you want a piece of shit pig in your house if the answers no play it as safe as you can.

I think chimneys are a perfect way to ventilate your room....Im planning to to this also in my shed setup....Its perfect, hot air/smell is going out, and no one will ever notice it....Splendid.....:hump:

Before you connect to any 'ol chimney take your lighter out and light it next to the opening in the chimney. Make sure you have no back-draft(lighter will go out)

i vent my 400w hps straight into my wall, no tubing to travel, heat is dispersed immediately, i honestly never filled my scrubber with carbon so ive been doing this for well over a year with no problems. Humidity is already 85% around here so im not worried about what i pump into the walls. I actually had 2 cops stop by to pass out fire safety pamphlets cause there was a fire in the neighborhood, in full bloom, no problems. (although it was scary to realize how easily i could have been busted right then.)

Your not getting steam off your HPS. Why don't you just read mazpot's post and go by it. No need to make this post any longer than it needs to be. Vent the damn thing out the chimney.

chimney is a great hot spot, it suppose to be, the other good thing out venting through the chimney is you shouldn't need a carbon filter, no noses 35, 40 feet in the air to smell it. I dry in my wood stove and it goes out the top
You ALWAYS need a filter , That dirty air coming out the chimney does not just fly away like some might think. The wind will take it right to your doorstep sometimes. (and the nighbors door too .)
And to answer the thread question ...... On some days (in the middle of summer) i can look at the chimney and see uh... well it looks like the clear shit that comes off grills when cooking....... NO steam.
All that is completely normal because its a chimney ....thats what its for bongsmilie
it is just above 50f right here right now and i just looked and there was nothing at all coming out ? (by looks) i am venting a 1k lamp.

Awww man; sorry bro; you may want to consider buying a good length of some ducting, and running it from the top of the chimney to your grow room, and ventilate out of it versus the chimney. I believe you mentioned it was an unused chimney, so as long as you don't start the fireplace, the ducting won't be burned. The ducting should contain the smelley air through the 30-40 ft of chimney. Ducting is prety inexpensive.

This is all I could think of right now, Sorry bro; i'll let you know if I can think of anything else.

I thought of getting on the roof with 40 ft of ducting and drop it down the chimney but I'm paranoid the neighbors would see me. My house has no privacy.
