An independent socialist? (Now that's irony, noob...)

I live in America but have been to many countries, well traveled and i enjoy debate, but what is your stance?

you either enjoy quoting me or need an adversary, what say you?

Everyone keeps using France as an example of socialism. France is NOT a socialist state. Having labor laws and universal health care do not make a nation "socialist" any more than our progressive income tax makes US socialist.

Yes, exactly. This why a pure socialist state or a pure capitalist state would not be successful. Socialism balances out the inequality that capitalism creates, and capitalism allows for more economic diversity than would be possible under complete socialism.

A better example would be the Scandinavian states. Although they are not as socialist as some countries in the past and today, despite their "socialism" they maintain some of the highest standards of living
