Help with Lights

I just started my 1st grow(bag seeds) and my seeds just started to sprot. I was wondering the light cycle I should use for the tiny girls well hope all girls. Also if some could plz tell me the light cycle I should use for my mother plants.

Plants in veg can have light 24/7 although some use 18/6. Be careful not to get it too close to young seedlings.

most people run between 18 and 24 hours of light for plants in veg state, to initiate the flower phase swith you light cycle to 12/12

What are the benfits to 24/7 compared to 18/24? From what I've read please correct me if I'm wrong plants will grow more on a 18/24 cycle. Something about the grow more when the light are off.

lights 18/6 for different reasons, reduce power consumption, reduce wear and tear on equipment, give plants a rest (more natural that way), less stress.

suppose the argument for 24 would be more growth....

18/6 - Saves on electricity bill.
24/0 - Simple setup, no need for timers

Neither will give a significant yield improvement over the other, although a study has shown that 20/4 does increase yield somewhat.

EDIT: I was mistaken, apparently. 18/6 will yield slightly better than 24/0, at least according to the guy who did the experiments, OT1. 20/4 did perform the best overall though. Link to my old post on this here.
