Ordering 400W HPS/MH Setup, your input needed!

Hey guys
time has come for me to invest in some better lights and im looking at getting a 400w hps/mh digital setup.

right now im pretty much set on this from HTG Supply -

All this comes out to a little over $300 after shipping charges. My real question here is this: Can the CoolTube6 be left on with no ventilation hooked up to it? Or is it REQUIRED to have an inlet/outlet going even on the cooltube?

The space that I'm working with is as follows: 5'x4'x9'

Will have mylar as well. Heat is my main concern. I'd love to do without inlet/outlet fans, etc.

Im by no means an expert in HID lights (I dont even use em), and dont take this the wrong way... but isnt the whole point of a cool tube that the air can easily flow when forced through there? I would just nix the cooltube if you dont want to use vents/fans and just run the reflector insted

I've read that if you're using reflectors the room will heat up a bunch. My room temp is 75*F...I can imagine it going up into the high 90's with a 400W unit correct?

i just ordered my 400w w/ reflector for $107 shipped, i hope its not too hot, i didnt get a cool tube yet if needed

Nice, good luck to u. I'd still like some other members to elaborate on this system....I'm leaning towards the regular max wing reflector now....just don't want to burn my plants!

hey d. i got 2 600 watt cool tubes from htgsupply. i also got the ducting and intake fans cuz the cooltube system was kinda made wit the thought that u would ventilate it. i like the cooltubes alot, but yes ventilation is key with it. im growin in two 4x4x7 tents so we are kinda similar, jus put the vents to work an a window satys open. bein in the windy city, im pretty good like that
