so when should i be harvesting? don't come in without advice..

whats up RIU, i got a couple lil baby girls, my first grow, that are both 50 days into flower.. they are pretty small, 16" and 19", one indica dominant, and one sativa dominant... wondering when i should think of choppin them down.. will be a sad, but very happy day lol, but i really would like a little help on how much longer any of u think i should go. here are a few pics, and check the next post for a couple more, idk how to get more than 4 to attach at once... thanks and always ++rep for good advice

pics 1 and 2 are the indica dom, and 2 and 3 are the sativa dom (if i'm wrong about any of that please inform me as to what is what)

When to harvest:
Trichromes- these are probably the biggest and most common factors to watch when diciding. This also enbles u to some "pick ur stone" but there's a lot more to it. A truely ripe bud will have at the least all milky trichromes the leafs will "donkey ear" kinda looks like heat stress with a twist lol the calyxes (the vase that the pistils come out of) will be swollen and the hairs should be receeded into the calyxes and the bud take on an overall goldish hue

In short ur buds should have trichs where u want them, 50% of pistils should be brown/pink/purple/red/ just not white. The calyxes should be swollen with resin ( this is usually when bud NEED to be tied up say the don't fall) the hairs should be recceding into the calyxes and the bud should take on a amber-golden hue from the trichs. Fdd has a very good example of what a difference letting ur bud truly ripen can make for potency yield and even bag appeal

Wow. Shits on fire in here lol. Forgot to mention ur got a solid 2 weeks on that lady. (Indica) the sativa I'm not sure. And I would advise u to completely ignore 420guy retaliation will only get u banned. Brush it off and move on or u won't last long here lol. And 420guy... Really? Well If youwant a head high chopwhen you have more cloudy trichome heads

if you want a more body- couchlock high chop with more red/amber trichomes

get a flashlight and a 30x jewelers magnifying glass to check them

When should I harvest my plants?

The 30X and 100X lighted magnifier are tools everyone serious about harvest timing should have. They make it easy to monitor the resin development process. After seeing 400X images of resin glands, I decided to also buy the 100X magnifier. It supplies a superior view, providing an enhanced perspective of resin gland condition and development.

I recommend buying the 30X model first and if you would like to expand your analytical capabilities, buy the 100X model. They both allow for a much closer inspection of the clarity, color and condition of the resin glands, which should be swollen and unbroken while remaining transparent and slightly amber, if at all, at the peak of ripeness. Some prefer harvesting earlier, as THC degrades to more sedative cannabinoids as the glands ripen.

Harvest timing is a matter of personal preference. When the glandular trichomes are clear with very little, if any coloration, THC levels are at their peak with CBD and CBN both at levels that will not overly influence the THC with their sedative effects. Some prefer more overwhelming narcotic type effects, allowing the resin glands to cloud and begin to amber or darken to increase overall cannabinoid content. The resin glands appear and therefore will mature at different times. A compromise is made when determining the desired overall maturity level to harvest. It depends on the growers preference in effect and palate.

Guys we really need to stop fighting among ourselves, ther are alot of real assholes on this site (ME being one of them at times) we need to stop and not let little things like "dont come in here without advice" not bother us, sure it does sound stupid coming from someone lookin for avice but if that bothers u then just dont reply because if you do reply in negative fashion then ur just lokin to argue and thats not what this site is for , its to help each other all out and have the best grows we can,like i said Im just as guilty as anyone else(I get upset at growers who dont want to help make mmj legal in their home state) but im tryin real hard now to be in these forums for all the right reasons
