pics help... my last batch had a few wierd looking banana like growths show up the last 2 weeks of flowering. there wasnt alot of them, i just went to town with some tweezers and removed em, the bud turned out fine, no seeds, tasted like... weed was meant to taste. heres a pic of what i had:

id pluck them a little early, u can make it more head high anyway with less seeds hehe

your hairs already appear at atleast a 60-40 amber i think you could pluck them now unless you want more a stoney high from your plants
ok i will pick them off later on when she wakes up lol thanks again for all your help the strain is white label,white skunk. any body had experience with thease plants? oh will this be ok to go the full 12 more days? if i pic all them bananas off.?the top pics don't show 60/40. think you're looking on the wrong photos mate, 12 days seems about perfect to me.. This shit is bannanas.. Pluck the little fuckers imo, dun let them ruin your grow

ok i have only 12 days flowering left and just noticed theres pod like things similar to seeds appearing on my budscan sum1 help me out is it turning hermie or sumthing what shud i do?thanks

I'm guessing I'm about a week to 10 days from harvest and noticed my first couple of bannas 4 or 5 days a go. I use tweezers to pull them off as I find them.
But even if you miss a couple and they manage to release some pollen I don't think it can do much harm this late in the game. One book I've read said it's just another indication that the plant is reaching maturity.
I've had these bannas show up on quite a few plants in previous crops and never thought they did any real harm. I'd much rather have these bananas late in flowering than the plant go full on hermie and start producing typical clusters of male flowers lower down on the main stem midway thru flowering. I've had that happen several times before when growing from bag seed and learned the hard way that the best thing to do if that happens is just get rid of that plant immediately.
Unless you just want to have something to fret about I wouldn't get too worked up over these bananas showing up.
I'm on my third run of Kiwi Seeds "Allegria" strain. On the first run I saved one of the male plants and isolated it off in another room. I collected the pollen and then used a small water coloring brush dipped in it to pollinate a couple of the lower buds on each female so that I could get some seed stock for future grows while still having the main colas seedless. It worked well and I got plenty of seed stock while still keeping the bulk of the plant seedless.
I seem to remember that on that grow I didn't have the bananas show up (or only a very few of them very late). And my theory on that (for what it's worth) is that because I allowed the plant to reproduce to a limited extent (which from an evolutionary perspective is what it's intended to do, i.e. continue the species) it didn't have as much incentive to throw out these bananas in a last ditch effort to reproduce its self.
Even though I don't need any more seed of this strain at this point I think I'm going to pollinate at least one small lower bud on each female on the next grow just for the purpose of further testing of this theory.
O.K. it looks like my morning brownie has begun to kick in and I'm starting to ramble on. It's time to go check on the ladies any how.

I got a white skunk from a mate, not sure what seed bank he used but out of 4 plants 3 were hermies! Of which one was the one he gave me!(bummer)
although since i hav grew about 10 of the resulting seeds and even though they have showed "bananas" throughout flowering, i have picked them off as best i could and had nothing but good bud without seeing a single seed!
Like i said, the end product was good, its nothing i would recomend as its all a "mabey"

About the bananas, they will be fine, happens. But I say you have more than 12 days left before harvest. The weeks of flower that breeders mention, like 8-10 weeks flower on indicas, is only an average time. They can be done in that amount of time if all your growing conditions were dead on the entire cycle, it's just a # to shoot for. Shoot at harvesting the plants when they look done and then let them go 2 more weeks, it's always perfect then. Check out this link before you cut them down all willie nillie. The breeders know their strains, yes, but you grew it so flower time will be a bit different, not always but alot of the time. Patience

I came across that tutorial by fdd some time back and thought it was pretty good.
My current crop pretty much has all the indicators for harvest he mentions except for the ambering up of the trichs. For some reason they just don't seem to be in any hurry to turn amber this time. As the rest of the plants health is still pretty good I'm holding off on the harvesting.
I feed them a little more nitrogen during flowering this time to keep them from yellowing up so much in the latter stages of flowering. Maybe that has something to do with it. Any way they've been getting nothing but water and a little molasses for the last 10 days.
I'm a little impatient to get started on the next grow with some new ideas but what the hell waiting another couple of weeks won't stress me to badly.
Time will tell.

Well that's a little bit different a situation than what I've got going. All mine are pretty much with in a week or two of each other and I don't plan on starting anything new until they're all completed.
But since you've already got so much time into the ones that are throwing bananas it would seem kind of a waste to me to harvest them prematurely just because you're worried about the two new clones.
Maybe you're trying to do a little to much to quickly with the type of set up you have. But I really wouldn't even worry about that, after all the more mistakes you make (if you even made a mistake here) the more and faster you learn for next time.
In my experience those bananas don't throw out near as much pollen as regular clusters of male flowers do. And I should think that most of what they do release gets stuck to the plant real close to the banana.
I'd say to just let things go as they are. If a few pistils on the younger plants get fertilized and you get a couple of seeds on them no big deal. A couple of seeds on a plant is not going to ruin it's quality and keep it from being all it can be.
Hell man if you do end up some where down the line with some mature seeds from all this maybe we can figure out a way to do some swapping.

and another thing to consider is if you cloned them from the same mother your having hermi probs with, the clones will have the same traits...
no my clones are fem white berry from paradise seeds i got the mother in seperate rooms i also got white widow mother aswell thats what i was saying my little cuttins arent so little and need 2 get them in the flowering room but that white label white skunk is taking up all my room ha.
