i would highly recomend getten some shiva skunk if u ever see it, that shit is some fire. i cant wait to smoke her. i havent see bud like that for a while. soooo much resin all over her. i have to leave town for a few days, so when i get back she will be all dryed and ill post final weight on my scale with pics.

Yo Yo, did some shit in hopes of saving the ladies. Temps been getting in the mid-60's...that is going to slow them bitches down. (the mites that is). In the mean time, warfare is taking place to eliminate them. Though, signs of life are none at this point. They only have to last 2 more weeks....Yields are diminished, but something is better than not, plus the whole intro of the new light from HPS to LED may have tweaked things a bit. However, things are good under the Jumbo....Crazy good.

Hope all is well bro, I am eager for the final weigh in!!! That shits going to be bomb!

i harvested a little over 3.5 ounches dry. but i only got about 2.5 onches that were smokeable. when i can home and checked on my buds the spider mites web up alot of my buds. i took a big hit because of those little fu$kers. the shivias where able to ripen barley, but the super skunks were premature buds. i wont even smoke them because their so $hity. i will probley toss them out. the shivas were nice and dense and are some killer buds. they got me super high befor i even cured them. right now their in the jars curing.

so the high temps i had and those mites fu%ked me and my grow. the mites also web up my fat tops so those got threw out. man i didnt even get the chance to smoke my tops! i am realy pissed that those mites messed up my plants so bad. and the high temps just made them hatch faster.

i hade no chance but to pull my plants eirly, they just werent growing anymore and i couldnt get them to finish i spent 3 or 4 weeks trying to let them finished, then i relized i would take my loss and not wast more time i could spend bombing those mites for my next grow can start.

you can belive its war on those mites now. i have three differnt bombs, a no pest stripe, and some watered down bleach for the walls. for the next few weeks their will be war in my grow room. once i get this all tooken care of i will get me some more clones and start that led test between the 180w vs. 126w.

Shits looking good in my 180 neck of the woods...very nice like. A month to go. They babies are still only around 6-8" tall! Perfect for what they are! I'm amazed...

ya its cooling down in my neck of the woods. this next grow should be all ideal temps for me. and those mites will die. its personal now!!!! they will suffer for what they did!!! i should be doing the test in a few weeks. just want to make sure the bugs are gone first.

Right now I am looking at setting my grow room. I spoken to Prosource a few days ago about setting up a 5x5 room. They think it would be a good idea if I got 4x 180w LED units. I was planning on using CO2 as well as using Stinkbud setup. I was going to use 3 flowering systems in the 5x5 room. Giving me a total of 42 plants in the flowering stage.

So my question is what is your opinions on this setup idea I have? Go with the 4x 180w LEDs or get 2x 600w HPS?
 
Nice! I've been reading through your setup, looks like the hype about leds was true. does your led light box have the wavelength of the light on the side? i'm thinking about making an led light net (looks like that C in electronics may come in handy after all!). is it 660nm?

It really depends on what you want to do and can you afford all those UFO's?

I got one and that was a big purchase

I just picked up a C02 tank and set it up last night so you could what my grow and see how it does

With the HPS lights you need more equipment to run them with the temps and all that stuff, pipe for fans, 2 fans and maybe a 3rd or 4th depending on how far you need to go

Check out some other grows and see what the LED's can do there are a few people using them getting great results

It just depends on what you want to do

With stinkbud's setup he has like 2x 600w HPS setup under 6 rails. Each rail has 7 plants each. total of 42 plants. He gets about 1 pound for each 2 rails to a total of 3 pounds from all the rails. I believe he's room is more like a 6x5. My flowering room is going to be 5x5 and I was thinking of using 4x 180w LED from Prosource. I don't have an issue doing a SOG if needed. But my goal is to get 3 pounds in a 5x5 room. I plan on using CO2. The reason I wanna use LEDs because I wanna keep my POWER Bill down. Because 2x 600w HPS running 12on12off everything month would cost me $50-$60/month in power bill with all the added crap those HPS need.

If you believe 5x5 room can get 3 pounds every 60 days with 4x 180w LED units. Then I might step it up a bit to 5x10 room and add another 4 more 180w LEDs. Giving me a total of 8x 180w LED units.

So lets do some math.
4x 180w LEDs = 720w (Each unit it will cover 2.5/square foot keeping it 8-10inchs from the top of the plants)

So...
8x 180w LEDs = 1,440w (same as above)

But I can live with myself if my power bill is $80/month or less if the light covers 5x10 room for the flowering. I also understand these LED units will cost me $525-$700 each. But the saving in the power bill and less headaches from the heat issue will be worth it to me.


Please give your thoughts. At times I feel this is to good to be true.

Also this is the stain I plan on using ( northern lights ) if you believe there is a better strain to use let me know as well.

I would also like to state something about those cheap 90w LED UFOs on ebay. They do really work. But look closely... The tests these companies did on them was for only 1 plant. That's how they can get away by saying this adds up 250-400w HPS light.

ok here is how the test setup is going to look. its not done yet still alot of work to be done, fans mylar and ect... but this is how the plants will be siting in each area. both lights are at 12" right now. take a look at each pic and see how the light dosent leek into each area of the other grow light? look at the pots.
i real dont think a wall inbetween each other is nessary since the light at 12" dosent spred that far.

Can you tell a big difference between the 120 degree and 60-degree LEDS? It seems to be visually apparent fromthis end, but maybe not as much, or as little as it is from your own eyes.

Looks like either way, your gonna get some good nug!! May the best unit win!!! You should start a new thread on this maybe? A lot of people are going to be following, watching, reading, and input-ing.

ya i can tell a diff. but the thing is the 126 is longer so it makes up for more foot print plus the leds are spread out more apart. it diff has more pentration and less foot print from what i can see with my eyes. the 180w diff. has more foot print and less pentration from what i can see with my eyes.

i am very curis to see what light dose better! but i hope they both do great so i can still get a fat yeild.lol. i need smoke!

i will make a new thread once i get the clones.
 
It will be easier to get a perspective once we get to see some undergrowth shots while they are in bloom. See what kind of penetrating power exists, and what kind of light footprint can actually be available when having the lights close enough, and what nots. What strain you going to be using? You said something once about whichever got tall enough first would be flowered first? You still going to stick with that plan? hehe sorry man! I am just super interested, I cant wait for you to get this started. I wish I had access to clones we could have a 180 vs 330W test! Its basically two-115W panels which would probably be about 100W of LED on each side, thats the lumigrow I speak of. So that not be a good test, but it would be interesting!

wow them led's look sick m8 propper funky colours nd that,hwhat are they connected to? a ballst or anythink or just a normal light fixture (bc) ect.
ur plants look nice to,also just buy a few cheap fans to keep the air moivng in there also it will thicken up ur stems

ya ill keep the pics coming so we can see what light dose what. i am trying to get some GREEN CRACK clones. as fare as the who gets to what highth first i dont know. i might do some LST tying down and maybe some coco grows mixed in? i dont know yet? ill figure it out.
