So does lollipopping really lead to a bigger harvest?

Should I cut off all the branches to the point where I topped the plant a few weeks ago and where it is now branching off or should I grow some bud from the lower branches as well? The former is called lollipopping. Does it really work?

depends on the height of the plant.. not to be used on small plants.. simply designed to remove lower growth of bud site that will never fully mature... the light cannot travel to the lower site so removing them lets the upper part of the plant grow vigorously and focus all its energy on a bud site worth having

u cut off the lower 1/3 of the plant.. what ever wont mature... ur tops will become larger and more defined... not sure if it increases ur yeild but will distribute the shit that u cut off the bottom into the tops instead... i dont see it increasing yeilds nor really diminishing them either... the tops will gain wieght (maybe not as much as the lil crap at the bottom would have weighed)... but its less manicuring in the end... lolipopping is more of a quaility technique rather quantity... u give up ur shitty buds for a stronger top... i lollipop mearly to allow air through my garden

U explantined it well, where id like to add is that i do belive u can increase yeilds through lollipopping by having more plants in an area....

so say u can fit 15 non lollipopp bushy plants under a light u can probably fit 30 + lollipop plants under the same light as they take up less space ....make sense?

u would top in veg and then lollipop when it goes into flower.. 1-3 weeks in

I personallyu do all my pruning and lolipoping all in veg, i dont want to stress my plants at all when thy are in bloom and justg let them focus on bud produciotns.... but thats just me :D:D:D

+ when u do ur lolipopping in veg u can make babies off those cutting where as if u do it in bloom not only are u stresstin ur plant out but its allot harder to make clones from those cuttings. :D:D:D

true said but i was answering it in "gereral", as his post sounded more of what he had goin and not what he was gonna get going... u can lollipop big plants too, i do.. but yes if u were to use this to gain weight u would need to add plants

I'm about to start a 30 plant SOG grow and I will be lollipopping. I don't know if it will actually improve harvest or not, but it will improve air circulation.
