Why is sex determined already???

About 40-45 days into veg, and Been on light for 24/7 every since growth, only two nights I turned off the light for about 6-8 hours each night at most.. At first was under a couple 6500k cfls, then for only a couple days under. A 600watt hps, then the past 4 or 5 days under a 150watt. I keep the 150 on 24 hours. Both plants already got their pistils, but I was wondering how? And does this mean I should soon switch to 12/12, and change nutes to flower? I was hopin to veg for a little bit longer, cuz they stretched and had barely any light until they were 20" tall, then a week ago I got my 600watt n 150 In the mail, n they have fatened up quite a bit since then. Can I keep veggin for a week or two?

Yep, you can still veg longer. The preflowers you are seeing, are normal - a plant doesn't have to be put into 12/12 to show sex, it just has to mature. The reason most don't before flowering is because most people put them into flower, before the plant would have flowered naturally. I guess I should ask what strain you're growing, because the other possibility is that you have an autoflowering strain, which will go into flower by itself, regardless of light cycle.:leaf:

Your sure they are pistols and not stiples? It takes about 5 weeks for the plant to become mature, during the process a plant can grow both. If you see the actual pistols (thin white hairs) then they are preflowers which do occur, the stiples (green spikey things on a plant) will grow on any maturing plant. Usually people mistake those on their first grow for pistols. If you wanna veg your plants longer go for it, if you wanna toss em into flower now go ahead. Its really your preference.

thanks jeffdogg but im no stranger to a pistil lmao.. and im pretty sure that i included the plant is about 45 days into veg. and standing at 27" tal.. this is is the mature stage of the plant, therefor i guess it is expected.

they are hybrid seeds from a dispensary in socal, indica dominant. my friend dint say anything about it being autoflower..

Yes you did include how old your plant was, which is why I said either or. I wasn't trying to make fun of you or anything about not knowing what pistils are. You came off sounding like you were new to growing by what you said and the question you asked thats why i replied how I did...

Lol, I know that's wut ya meant bro, and i woulda said the same thing if I thought it was a first timer... I'm no regular noob. I'm a noob on his second grow (3 last time, 3 this time), that uses RIU religiously now. Therefor I'm beyond that of ur average second time grower lol.
