I was looking at the news today and came across this very interesting tidbit!

WASHINGTON – The Obama administration will not seek to arrest medical marijuana users and suppliers as long as they conform to state laws, under new policy guidelines to be sent to federal prosecutors Monday.

A 3-page memo spelling out the policy is expected to be sent Monday to federal prosecutors in the 14 states, and also to top officials at the FBI and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The memo, the officials said, emphasizes that prosecutors have wide discretion in choosing which cases to pursue, and says it is not a good use of federal manpower to prosecute those who are without a doubt in compliance with state law.

I did a quick search on the web for this story and failed to find one. Got a source URL I can check?

It's still bogus that the majority of states across this nation will be treated like criminals. It just makes no sense to have it medically legal in just a few selected states.

I mean, damn, isn't this supposed to be America?
I keep reading threads from people who are making up illnesses to get an RX in legal states.....just makes no sense at all. MJ has been proven to ward off illness for me on a much broader scale and I'm suppose to fear a felony for wishing to use it? Insane. Let's just hope something as innocent as smoking weed becomes legal for ALL.
Don't they have some terrorists to catch?
The priorities in this country just blows my mind.

My state is considering as well, but most say it will never pass.
I don't even think the state should be dictating who should or shouldn't be using it. It's just all ridiculous in my opinion.

They will still find ways to bust any/every dispensary. Any little mistake in a book, taxes, etc. is all they need to bust one.
I agree with Chi, this means nothing, just a way for Obama to make himself look good, while still being able to crack down on it.
