Yellow lower leaves with Pics

Hello, I'm on my 2nd grow and everything is going fine except for a few lower leaves yellowing. The strain is Northern Lights. I'm using Scotts Organic Soil with very diluted nutes of 20/20/20, only used nutes one time so far.

They are about 3 weeks old. I'm using 8 Flouros shop lights 24/7. I'm watering every 3 days, wondering if that's too much? I put my little finger 1/2 deep in the soil and it seems dry.

I have 5 plants total. The pics are not that good but I used an arrow to point out the yellow bottom leaves. The bottom leaves are not getting much light because they are directly below the larger ones, wonder if that's why?

Thanks,
Goose

I'm growing NL as well and they are also about three weeks old. I currently have 4 plants and 3 of them are doing really well however the fourth one is lagging behind in growth and has the exact same problem that goose is having. The first two leaves to pop out of the seed have turned yellow and look like they are almost dead.
My other three are a lot bigger and are definitely covering the botton leaves but none of those bottom leaves have turned yellow; that makes me think that light is not the issue here.

Would appreciate some possible explainations. Thanks for the pics goose.

I dont know much about scotts soil but are you sure that it had enough food for the plants? I would start doing 1/4 str nutes because they look pale and yellow, kinda like they arnt gettin food, the brand new leafs look good tho, watch close for fert bern.

I'd try giving them a bit more nutes and maybe get them into something bigger than those little cups.
A few years ago when I did my 1st grow(I'm just a month or so into my 2nd), a friend gave me a clone he called Northern Lights/Haze. All my other plants ended up short and bushy. This one turned into a monster, I had to bend it a few times. The main stem must have been 7 feet. It was kind of sickly looking early on, but wow did it grow. Here's a pic, I'll have to find some from later.

Hi guys Dont worry about the little leaves at the bottom falling off they do..
they are like the baby leaves..the first two leaves that appeared ,the other actual formed leaves ( the ones we recognize as cannibus leaves) all appear afterwards and theres a good chance that as they grow these leaves also will fall off.. or die in which case you want to have em away anyhow....hope this helps..

go tony, i was wondering how many posts it would take for someone to actually know this... yes guys those leaves fall off. goose it's too early for nutes at this point, every 3 days is about how long my containers take to dry normally, so you should be okay with this atm, look forward to transplanting those soon too.

Thanks, they actually do look like baby leaves falling off. Kind of like baby teeth I guess.

Will follow transplanting and nutes advice, thanks. This place rocks!!

when you get ready to nute, use a fish emulsion fert. It has nitro, phos and potash. It won't burn the plant. I water my new plant every 4 days. Didn't nute untill the 4th wk. Will nute again in 5 wks.

ok the leafs on the bottem that are turning yellow are dieing because the plant is killing those leafs off to make new and stronger leafs on top.

Yeah these small leaves are the first leaves the plant gets to just start photosynthesis so it can grow more and get the actual full "cannibus" leaves. They're meant to fall off anyways so dont worry anymore since you have more leaves but Im wondering. Maybe it was a slight nutrient burn from the soil early on, cause the same thing happened with my plant early on with the lower leaves but the new growth is fine
