Actually you have it backwards... not surprising. As you can see (maybe) by the chart, the Dem's are the ones who DON'T see the bias.... rep's and Ind's beat out the Dem's in EVERY category.

HA! That's hilarious, Jax.

That chart doesn't show what you seem to think it shows.

Today, a large majority of Republicans view Fox News positively (72%), compared with just 43% of Democrats.

We all KNOW Fox has a conservative slant to their broadcasting. This is only disputed by ardent supporters of Fox News, who, not coincidentally are also the network's viewing audience (and employees/affiliates). Is it any surprise that people who watch Fox News religiously vehemently deny that the network is biased towards one side? Not at all! Conservatives are a fringe minority, so when Fox News adopts a conservative stance on politics, it makes the conservative viewer feel that their views are more widely held than they actually are.

We also know that more republicans than democrats are regular viewers of Fox News. So when the poll says that only 22% of conservatives think the media shows bias towards one side or the other, we can be almost certain that the other 78% are probably those Fox News conservative audience members we already discussed. This is because conservatives who watch Fox News share the views expressed on Fox News, and don't see any bias...they don't see any bias because the bias is in favor of their own political beliefs. Ask a liberal democrat if MSNBC is biased and you're likely to end up with the same sort of response, while a conservative republican will almost certainly say that MSNBC has a liberal bias. See how this works? If the perceived political stance expressed by the news outlet (or in Fox's case, comedy network) closely matches those of the viewer, the viewer is less likely to claim the network as politically biased.

Now, the figures show Republicans (who are more likely to be viewers of Fox News than democrats, keep this in mind, folks! what that essentially means is they are basing their personal opinion of how the news media operates based on their own observations of the news network THEY watch - Fox News!) overwhelming outnumber democrats in the opinion that;

1) The press is too critical of America (in a 27% margin over democrats)

2) Stories are often inaccurate (by 20%)

3) The news is often influenced by powerful people and organizations (by 17%)

4) The news media is "not professional" (by 21%)

5) The news media is politically biased (by 28%!!!!)

How does one base their opinion of the news media, other than by direct observation of their own preferred news programs? Since republicans watch Fox News more than democrats, it's fair to conclude that republicans have obtained their negative view of the media by observing Fox News. We can then also conclude that Fox News is overwhelmingly viewed as;

Politically biased
Not professional
Critical of America
Often influenced by powerful people and organizations

Fact about the Obama administrations information power-grab, revealed on the Glen Beck show today. Don't miss it. :mrgreen:

Free speech is already under attack in Britain. If you say anything against Islam - including the promotion of your own culture - you will be silenced. As you know Muslims have zero tolerance for Christians or Jews, or any other religion besides their own, and after allowing an influx of Muslims into the country, the leaders are so cowardly they have decided that it's better to silence you, than deal with the loudmouthed trouble makers.

Go to a Muslim nation and try to openly practice freedom of religion and you'll be jailed or worse.

If not for lax immigration into the US - by Muslims - 9/11 never would've happened, but our leaders in this country are too polite to say it. Instead we continue to strip search harmless little old ladies in our the airports. :cuss:

The next line of defense for lib nuts will be..... "why shouldn't the govt. control the media...that way all the wrong information never affects the country. It's a good thing."

I can hear it now.......

Wanna know why nobody else covered that "quote" the way Fox did? Because they took it out of context.

Rick, you have SOME NERVE condemning Anita Dunn for quoting Mao, when earlier you PRAISED THE FUCKING UNABOMBER and called him a "genius".
Liar!

I did say Kaczyanski was a genius but I also said he discredited himself through his heinous actions. And you accuse Fox of taking things out of context. You are the King at taking things out of context.

From Wikipedia:

Kaczynski received an undergraduate degree from Harvard University and earned a PhD in mathematics from the University of Michigan. He became an assistant professor at the University of California, Berkeley at age 25 but resigned two years later.

Sound pretty smart to me. He was also probably crazy but he was smart never the less.

As far as Fox taking Dunn's praise for Mao Tse Tung, how exactly does one take that out of context? Why don't you set the record straight for us your Royal Trollness.

Guys, is it not painfully obvious at this point that DoobnVA is nothing more than a troll who wants to spew his far Left vitriol in every single solitary thread. There can be no reasonable conversation as long as he is involved.

I propose we all take this opportunity to put him on our ignore list and hope he goes away.

When you use the word "fact" in sentence promoting the conspiracy theories of a lunatic AND in the very first sentence of your post, it reflects poorly on the state of your own mental health.

I've been involved in a couple threads with you where I call you out on something and I get a "I'll get back to you with that" Palinesque reply. Many of your posts are personal attacks and rarely have I seen any kind of constructive analysis. So, for what it's worth, ur ignored. And enjoy the new deomocratic future; ur ideals are old hash.

You must not be paying attention then. I just don't chew my cabbage twice. Once I post the answer, I won't keep repeating it by simply changing up a few words.

I am blunt with ppl that make the same incorrect assumptions over and over again despite the data showing otherwise. I don't suffer fools gladly..... or liars.
