question about lights for flowering(+ rep for good advice)

so ive been flowering for about a week now, and the lights i have going for my one plant are 2 42watt 2700K cfls, and 2 27watt 6500K cfls.

i know that the 2700K bulbs are better for flowering cause their light is in the red spectrum, and the 6500K are better for vegging, but will my plant still flower ok if i continue to use the same bulbs that i have? its only one plant, just to keep in mind. i just havent had the money or time to go get some other lights. would it really make that big of a difference?

IMO penetration is more important, but if you wanted to you could do them all red spec. I would just do more if anything. Either way you will be fine. Good luck

i would get about 2 or 3 more cfls 2700k so you can add a little yeild to your plant as i would put to of the lights hangin around the plant as they can reach the lower part you definetly want some more penetration all the way down to her waist line get some light under that skirt good luck......

More light is always better, always.

There are people that use a 1k hps to flower 1 plant, that is on the extreme but that should illustrate the point.

CFLs lose almost all intesnsity after 6 inches I believe so the more the better.

im pretty sure my only plant that i grew has turned out to be a male, oh well im still growing it.

The sun emits those colours and more, and weed utilizes both colours constantly. I believe it has been shown that having blue light during flowering reduces stretching and increases potency, and it is widely know that more red light increases yield. It therefore makes sense to use a combination of joth spectrums and as said so use as much might as possible. CFLs at around 48W and below can be comfortably placed 2 inches from the plant wihout I'll effect, just make sure you adjust for growth.

thanks for noticing that. well im basically 100% positive its a male, im just waiting to see if it got stressed out somehow and is trying to be a hermie. im hoping for the best, but cant you at least grind up all of the leaves of the male plant and at least make some hash or something?

Im pretty sure male plants dont produce thc, all there energy goes into the seed production or pollen.

yeah i am almost positive that male plants make no thc.. so they really aren't good even for edibles or hash...
and to answer you ? you would be fine using the lights you have to flower with... look at it this way, many people use mH lamps for flowering although they emit more of a blue spectrum than a hps, which is what is used for vegetive growth, and also vice versa.. many people also use hps lamps for vegging although they are much better for flowering..
that sucks about it not being a bitch... that is why i would recomend going with femmed seeds, or always planting more plants then just one at a time.. like right now i am growing five plants in order to hopefully get one or two girls out of the bunch..

i just read your latest post and that is a smart idea as once the pollen comes out, i have heard of it affecting grows farther down the line... pollen can be a pain in the butt to get rid of, so i would just be safe and chop her well b4, as heartbreaking as this can be, lol

i would never give advice that I wasn't sure of. Don't throw out that plant! haha I searched google real quick and found this link pertaining to male marijuana THC --> http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Do_male_marijuana_plants_have_thc If you're really unsure you could ask someone with a good reputation and I'm sure they'll agree that hash can be made out of a male plant. If you get lucky, it will hermie and then you'll get slightly more THC than you would've. (thanks for the +rep btw)

I'm astounded by the ammount of people screaming for the plants blood. Of course it contains thc and the hash will get you fucked. Grow the plant out in a different grow area: it will be good experience for you.
